In the world of disc golf, women often face unique challenges when it comes to playing with men. But one woman's vision has created a safe and welcoming space for women to come together, practice their putting skills, and support one another.

Tracy Heyd, a New York-based disc golfer, had an idea that would bring hundreds of women from around the world together. It started as a casual conversation with her boyfriend about starting a virtual putting league. But Tracy couldn't shake off the idea, and it lingered in the back of her mind all summer.

In 2021, with COVID still a concern, Tracy decided to create a virtual league that would allow women to practice their putting skills from the comfort of their own homes. The Women-Only Virtual Putting League was born, with Tracy at its helm.

**Why Women-Only?**

Tracy realized that many women felt intimidated or uncomfortable playing in mixed leagues. She wanted to create a space where women could feel safe and supported, without the pressure of competing against men. "It's just about creating a community where women can come together and have fun," Tracy says.

The league has grown rapidly, with participants from across the globe, including Asia, Europe, and North America. Women of all skill levels are welcome to join, from beginners to seasoned pros.

**How the League Works**

Tracy runs three sessions per year: winter, spring, and fall. Each session lasts for several weeks, with two pools: beginner and advanced. Participants pay a registration fee, which is then allocated as payouts at the end of each session.

The league uses a unique scoring system, where participants earn points based on their putting distances. The top scorers in each pool are rewarded with prizes, ranging from gift cards to disc golf equipment.

**A Community Built on Support**

The Women-Only Virtual Putting League is more than just a competition – it's a community built on support and inclusivity. Participants often share tips, advice, and encouragement on social media, creating a positive and motivating environment.

Tracy assigns partners to each participant, who verify their scores and provide feedback. This system allows for accountability and ensures that the competition remains fair.

**Growing and Evolving**

As the league grows, Tracy is committed to making it more inclusive and rewarding. She's working on securing permanent sponsors to support the league and its participants.

For those interested in joining the Women-Only Virtual Putting League, Tracy encourages them to "be open-minded and willing to try something new." With a focus on fun, support, and inclusivity, this league is an opportunity for women to come together and grow their skills – both on and off the course.
