The 20th Brent Hambrick Memorial Open has come to an end, and with it, the crowning of champions in both the BHMO and PDGA National Tour. Catrina Allen, a force to be reckoned with this season, solidified her lead to take home four titles in the Open Women's division.
Allen's impressive run throughout the season culminated in a flawless performance at the BHMO. With a perfect score of 600 points in the NT series, she left no doubt about her dominance. This achievement comes on the heels of her six wins out of seven events on the PDGA National Tour, including her second-place finish at The Vibram Open.
In the Open division, Ricky Wysocki was looking strong for much of the competition, but a thrilling turn of events in round three saw Paul McBeth take the lead. McBeth's incredible comeback, featuring nine birdies and one bogey, propelled him past Wysocki by 13 strokes. This set the stage for an exciting Final 9 showdown between the top players.
The Final 9 tradition brought together the top four Open division players and the top three Open Women's division players for a thrilling conclusion to the event. Catrina Allen's lead in the women's division was insurmountable, but the men's competition remained tight until McBeth's impressive performance sealed his victory.
In addition to the competitive aspect of the tournament, the BHMO also raised $7000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The event has come to a close, but the excitement and anticipation for next year's schedule are already building.
