good afternoon and welcome to Phoenix Arizona I'm Ian toner joined by Alex guier head coach of the world ultimate and guts men's team representing the United States this summer Alex there's been a lot of preparation heading into this weekend selecting the tryouts planning how the tryouts would go did you get what you needed to see out of the players yeah absolutely um I think the maybe the one thing I didn't get was was strong differentiation the thing I certainly got was 50 extremely talented very athletic very capable Ultimate Frisbee players um it's been a long weekend they put in a lot of hard work um and the quality was uniformly excellent so you know you've got that embarrassing embarrassment of riches at hand what kind of tools or concepts do you use to help help differentiate and most competitive team you can um you know it's been a long weekend so we've had a lot of reps um a lot of those reps came in one-on-one situations um and so it's going to be a matter of small degrees you know um and the other thing is while there's a lot of good players you know it's we're we're looking for the very top um and uh you know we need 10 to 15 standout guys from this weekend and having gotten look at them for 14 15 hours of play now um you know hopefully we can can put the right 15 together I I would hope so and you know you've got a lot of experience at every single level whether it's World Games you know Club Nationals things like that how does this evaluative experience compare to the pressure of those situations that you face this has been across the board the strongest Tri out I've ever participated in um it's um a little bit more difficult maybe because it's bigger than the world games event was there there twice as many men here but of course the team is twice as big sure um which uh which makes it more feasible um and uh it was uh beautiful weather out here today uh and that made for really powerful offense um and I think that this has been the strongest weekend of consistently good Ultimate Frisbee that I've been I would I would have to agree that it was also very...
