my name is Lera Olsen and I am a player on volley radiance last season I was a practice player with flyers which is the men's team in Raleigh and Jesse Jones who's the one of the captains of the radians had played for them two seasons prior for a for a full game as a Rosburg player and both of us and many other women of the community felt that it was really important to have an avenue for women to play a high level that you know as close to professional as we get in our sport right now we are under the umbrella of the Flyers organization so we travel with the men's team and our costs are currently been covered by the by the Flyers organization in the hopes that a few years down the line we can be one united entity that has potentially a shared revenue stream and can really be an equitable two team organization but there are many women who feel that this is not the right way forward when the boycott first happened and one of these conversations were really brewing in the late fall I felt very strongly that we needed to have a mixed a UDL to replace a men's ADL and I think I don't yet know what's right I think that this game might be a little rough at the start for the radiance we have had one practice together and one game where we scrimmaged ourselves and that's it for how it can play together and I think one of the fears that's been happening right now as we are exploring the potential for a women's professional league is that these initial games are not the highest level of play that women's ultimate can offer and we're afraid that that might turn off people who are either new to the sport or who are thinking about the potential success of asleep and I hope that both that we can plays great and as athletic and is awesome in the spirit of the game as we possibly can tonight but also that people acknowledge and give space to the fact that this is a new thing for the players and the coaches and the entire organization and to give us some time to learn and grow and to feel out the space there were three
