USA Ultimate Reaches Thousands At Nickelodeon Day Of Play

USA Ultimate joins forces with Nickelodeon at the Worldwide Day of Play in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York, to promote healthy lifestyles and active play among children. The event, attended by thousands of families, features USA Ultimate's interactive booth where coaches teach kids fundamental skills like catching and throwing. The radar-themed activity allows young participants to let loose and throw with abandon, making for a fun and engaging experience. Mike Lingu, USA Ultimate's manager of Youth and Education Programs, shares insights on the organization's involvement in the event and its partnership with established brands like the National Football League and Major League Baseball. this weekend in Prospect Park in Brooklyn New York USA ultimate and dis New York hosted a booth of Nickelodeon Day of Play an expansive event encouraging children to get outside and play with thousands of families in attendance it was an opportunity to get discs in the hands of many young New Yorkers ultiworld spoke with Mike lingu the USA ultimate manager of Youth and education programs about the day uh it's been great you know uh there's over 35,000 kids here and we've had you know two or three thousand of those through our booth today um we've got two activities going on we've got coaches working with kids on catching and backand and we also have a radar Booth where the kid can go Hog Wild and throw as hard as they want um so it's been pretty fun this is our first time here at at the Worldwide Day of Play so you know I think there's some things that we'll take back and and do differently the next time and uh but uh it's a great opportunity USA ultimate presented their sport alongside more established organizations like the National Football League Major League Soccer the United States tennis Association professional Golf Association and Major League Baseball volunteers from disc New York the local organizing committee for ultimate in New York City and an affiliate organization of USA ultimate helped operate the booth throughout the day even USA ultimate CEO Tom Crawford got in on the teaching I asked Mike lingu how USA ultimate got involved with Nickelodeon in the first place sure so uh we met Nickelodeon at the aper National aper convention which is a Convention of PE teachers that is held annually each year uh elementary through High School PE teachers uh we go there and we speak to them and talk to them about how to teach and how to coach ultimate um Nickelodeon was in the booth next to us and asked us to be a partner at this event um they're the most trusted brand for parents um in the country right now and it's a great way to leverage uh our Sport with parents of of a population that doesn't know we exist yet and so uh we've met a ton of people here who have never thrown a frisbee before and now they've at least thrown and caught...
