hi everyone and welcome back to another episode of laying it out i'm your host scottie dempsey and i'm soloing this intro today um just due to some scheduling conflicts because um pockets and i recorded a really fun interview with the philly freedom quidditch team to talk about their niche sport and kind of the parallels and differences to kind of to the frisbee community a super fun interview really glad that they got to join us and we don't really want to waste any more time getting to it because it's pretty packed with content and really really looking forward to it as for any personal updates we've both been doing some club team tryouts been having a lot of fun with that thankfully no injuries yet and um looking forward to a really fun club season this summer hopefully it'll be a little bit more back to normal and once our lives settle out which you guys have been keeping up with great super appreciate everyone's support um we'll we'll be back with all our details on tryouts in a couple weeks thanks to our editor lindsay for the great idea about profiling another niche sport which definitely seems to have its roots in college and club sports and it was really fun to get to know how this sport that originated from a lot of people's favorite fantasy book series when they were children became a national international type of sport so don't want to waste any more time uh we'll take a quick second and then we'll jump right into the interview all right welcome back listeners we are here with our special guest today the philadelphia freedom quidditch club um as we mentioned earlier in the episode our awesome editor lindsay had gave us a few ideas for some episodes and one of them was interviewing other players of a niche sport and the first one that came to our minds was quidditch we just wanted to talk about some of the similarities and differences in the culture maybe rant a bit how people don't think it's a real sport and just kind of like talk about quidditch because harry potter was a big part of my childhood i feel like it was a big part of a lot of people's childhood um so thank you for answering my random facebook dm why don't...
