put some spicy foreign canada just became the world champions yo canada and the rest of the world you're listening to the hacking a podcast and i'm one of your hosts theo wan from toronto ontario and i'm danny proby and i'm actually in parksville dc on vancouver island right now so this is your coast coast guide and we're really excited to bring you a really fun episode today for sure so danny we missed you last week we're happy to have you back so uh yeah i hope you're doing well over there and uh maybe won't we give you a chance to share uh what's been going on in your life and uh you're back now which we're excited about so share what's been going on there yeah um so my whole life my my dad has been battling different cancers and diseases and stuff and it's something i've kind of always grown up with and he always beats it like he had leukemia when i was eight and he had prostate cancer and graves disease and hodgkin's lymphoma and all of these things throughout my life and he always just like battles through it he's like the strongest person and and um it's hard the last conversation i have with him he said the doctor just gave him another five to ten years and that felt like amazing to know that i was going to get another five to ten years with him and then i got the call on thursday that um he had passed away the night before so i just been on the island visiting with my family and and stuff it's it's a hard time and um i'm trying to be really open about sharing about it because i think a lot of people are really afraid of grief like when i'm out um my frisbee stuff or if i'm out with friends um i can see people really awkward around me not knowing what to say they don't want to trigger me but like i i want to think about him i want to bring him into my memory into my thoughts so i really do appreciate when people reach out and i have had a lot of people reach out to me too and um it means a lot so i don't know if if everyone else deals with grief...
