ECC's matchup between San Francisco Revolver and Texas Double Wide, two of 2011's top four teams, was, as expected, back and forth and close throughout the game. Double Wide would strike first after the Jared Wolf block led to the early break to put them up 1 z. Their deep cutting, which looked good all game, was extra easy on this play as Cole Sullivan ripped the backhand break for the two-1 lead. The Revolver offense continued to look shaky early with this simple incut throwaway. Double wide would take advantage with another big play from Wolf for the break in the 4-2 lead. Another double wide hook and this time an even bigger play from Wolf kept them up by two. Revolver would get a break back however after the Jonathan Levy endzone D led to a patient offensive attack in the score. Double wide would take half up a break with this nice hammer from Sullivan. But the second half was all revolver. They came out with a D on the two floaty backhand which gave them an easy first break. They would get another after a long point with a lot of turnovers and tack on a third after a receiver miscommunication on a high stall hammer gave them a chance to find a streaking Patrick Bis for the 10-8 lead. Down two with Revolver at game point. Double wide would need a score, but they would turn it over on an attempted backhand break. And Revolver would take advantage with Ashlin Joy finding Jonathan Levy for the game winner.
