welcome to deep look ulti world's weekly radio show about the current state of ultimate i am the host and editor charlie eisenhower joining me is ulti world senior editor keith raynor and the club post season is underway the first weekend of sectionals is in the books and we've got uh we got teams punching their tickets keith to the regional championships and uh you know not not always much drama at sectionals but enough to keep things interesting there's there's a little bit of spice slayered in as as as you mentioned uh but like much of the club regular season there there is a lack of a vacuum for like really impactful important feeling ultimate but there is this you know group of of teams at the margin who for them this is an important part of the year they've been trying to work to this point to to get to regionals i think that number is dramatically lower than it is in college where like the uh well 70 of teams like their season is defined by how they perform at conferences or something like that i don't know maybe it might be smaller than that 50 something like that uh in club what it's it's it's a really small group that's like okay our goal this year is to make regionals uh so you know it's it's it's a weird thing to look at but we never know exactly how much to make of the results and every year we go through this process of okay so and so be so and so add sectionals what does it mean and then in this one example you write it off and this other example you know and then by the time you come to regionals some of those results really did prove to be indicative well let's take a look at some of the uh notable upsets and happenings at the first weekend of sectionals we'll start in the southwest where san francisco classy semifinalist at the pro championships i will add finishes fourth they lose to polar bears and mischief who are seated uh and ranked ahead of them that's that's no surprise but they also lose to sacramento tower ultimate a team that i have never heard about before so shout out to sacramento tower ultimate for knocking off san francisco classy and they...
