welcome to a live edition of the deep look podcast it is what day is it I don't even know anymore Saturday May 27th and we are through the pre-quarters round here at College Nationals we're still at the fields and man the energy is just buzzing Here Charlie Eisen alongside Keith Rader Keith what an amazing round of pre-quarters we just got to experience I'm I'm unbelievable uh you know there are so many things about it that were great and not just the ultimate I mean we obviously had uh a series of really exciting games a cascading ending there where you had just one round and then the next game end and then the next game end and then uh for those for those who are at the fields I mean there was just this energy as fans were literally running from one field to the next as each game ended uh which you know for for those who used to go to natural to Sarasota was kind of what it was like there uh it was it was a great somebody somebody actually commented this Charlie I was told it was overheard somebody said it's like field pass in real life so uh that's the idea behind field pass for what it's worth um all right let me just quickly run down the pre-quarters result I mean we actually need to talk a little bit about what happened at the end of of the pool play as well uh but here's the pre-quarter scores and then I'll give you the quarterfinals matchups we'll start the women's division Stanford beats UCSB 14-13 in a game that before the tournament you would never have expected to be anywhere near that close but it was a barn burner Carlton beats Northeastern 15-10 although they were down at halftime 8-6 so that's what kind of round we had uh Tufts over Colorado State 15-8 and the only true blowout of the round and then Washington holds off Oregon 14-11 giving you the quarterfinals matchups UNC versus Stanford Carlton versus Vermont Tufts versus UBC and Washington versus Colorado all of the top eight seeds making it into the bracket over on the men's side Brown beats Carlton 15-11 holding off a sort of a late comeback from Carlton Vermont over Cal 14 13 on double game Point Oregon the shock upset...
