President's Day Invite women's final recap. We've got Carlton versus Santa Cruz. And listen, if this is starting to feel familiar, it's because Carlton is back in finals again. They took down Santa Barbara invite a few weeks ago and are now hunting for the two Pete. Meanwhile, Santa Cruz rolls in as rising stars after knocking off the defending champs from last year, UBC and semis. So yeah, New Blood versus Final Boss Energy type of game. Carlton starts on offense in dark. Santa Cruz comes out trying to trap them on the sideline, but Gelfin immediately says, "Not today." and launches an absolute bomb. Zidenberg boxes out perfectly for the opening hold. One- nothing for Carlton. Santa Cruz turns it on a high pass to an under and Fina wastes no time in punishing them. She sends an oi flick to McDaniel for the first break of the game. That's two nothing Carlton and they're already looking very, very comfortable. [cheering] Carlton comes down with a zone, but Santa Cruz responds with not just one, but two stunning hammers from Rachel Chang. Just dots to get them on the board. Every time Santa Cruz scores, Carlton has an answer. Gelfin continues her long [music] ball throwing clinic. This time finding Eliza Barton for another quick hold. Then we get one of those chaotic, slightly unhinged points that feels like it's never going to end. A couple deep shot turns and yet another when Fischer skies for a massive block on a third huck attempt [music] of that same point. And somehow it just keeps going. Seven turns later. Yes, seven.
