Not only is the tour back, but with some big dollar purse announcements, a CBS extension, and now with an hour of free coverage per round. All that and not too much more this week in disc golf. Welcome back, disgenerates. The time is now. The season is upon us. And for any of you that are new to the channel, allow me to welcome you and let you know that I'm your host, Swiss Cheese, the one whose name is a tagline about how bad their game is, and back at it again with another episode of This Week in Disc Golf. The show where I cover all things disc golf from the past week on the channel that covers the sport in our own way. And by that, I mean more than just scripted. And we understand we might not be the home of your news or the ones you admit to watching, but we're still the ones you can't help yourself from tuning into or better known as the disc golf world. Now, this one's going to be a quick one so I can get you back to the coverage or the course, whichever you prefer. But let's start it off and let it be known out loud that Powerball money is already looking awfully nice on the DGPT. And I'm not trying to glaze the tour like that Reddit post, but the dropping of a $350,000 purse with 50K going to both winners of the Powerball Cup certainly was one impressive cap to the week of press releases prior to the start of the year. It was enough for me to get off my Punch Live feed. But that's just cuz Iing love that goddamn monkey. Now, that 50 grand number that sounds larger and larger the more times you say it comes in $15,000 more than last year's winner took home, which was down for the first time since new leadership took over the tour, only for that to be followed just a few weeks later with rumors of possible lowered payouts to the ones attending the match play event. And even though that never did come to fruition, it still has lingered over the disc golf pro tour. So with the display of the immediate impact of outside sponsorship dollars on the tour and its events could not have come at a better time...
