Simon Lizotte Agrees With HOT TAKE
Disc golf commentary host Swiss Cheese joins Simon Lizotte to analyze Drew Gibson’s recent discussion on rules and officiating in professional disc golf. Following weeks of intense community debate and algorithm-driven content about Eagle McMahon’s post, this episode shifts focus to a practical solution for course management. Gibson’s proposal suggests that the sport does not need the costly implementation of paid marshals for every card, a widely requested but financially demanding change. Instead, the argument centers on a feasible rule change that could be approved by the PDGA board or the tour, addressing core officiating issues without straining the sport’s limited budget. The hosts explore why this approach is more realistic and economical than the current state of affairs, which has left many fans feeling stuck in a cycle of division without clear solutions. They also cover other notable news from the past week, including the impact of the PDGA survey results and the ongoing discourse surrounding the Smugs. This breakdown provides essential context for disgenerates seeking clarity on how the sport can evolve its officiating standards while remaining financially sustainable. Whether you are a veteran player or a new follower of the PDGA tours, this analysis offers a fresh perspective on the future of fair play and course management in disc golf.

Drew drops a hot take and Simon's there to agree. Smugs didn't need Gibson attending for the teapads to become a topic. Subscription tears floated in a PDGA survey and even some more this week in disc golf. What's good all you disgenerates out there? And for the ones who might be joining for the first time, welcome. And I'm your host Swiss cheese. Not because of my nationality, but instead for the far too many holes in my game. Now, formalities aside, I'm here to bring you all the disc golf news you may have missed from the past week, all on the disc golf world. Following back-toback weeks of rules and officiating discussion or debate, it resulted in the algorithm driving that content. So much so that it had me hoping for any relief that it caused me to linger a little longer than I was comfortable with on that Eagle McMahon post. Difficult to justify that to just you guys, let alone friends and family. So, let's just move past that rather quickly. It's fair to believe many were hoping the playoffs and some Vermont scenery may change the focus on these latest rules issues really due to the fact that it caused such a divide within the community with so little to no reprieve as each side dug in and stuck to their main talking point. All the while providing little to no solutions to the actual problems, which might have been why Drew Gibson's latest take in video might have done as well as it did. At least he provided a possible solution that is not just the most economical, answers other issues the sport faces. And dare I say, realistic. Well, more realistic than trying to toss money the sport just doesn't have at it. course in the form of trained and paid marshals for each card that everyone is calling for. Instead, Drew's solution would only need to pass a rule change vote by the PDGA board or further highlight the need for tours own cuz some of you who play events might not like it even if Simon does that. And Drew makes it clear it doesn't help his game any. What is it you may ask? Well, let's have Drew tell you. I don't know if stand still is the right answer to any of these problems, but I do think...
