PDGA has a major announcement, one being a familiar one. MVP releases that goose signing even though they didn't proofread it. Discraft elite lineup is finalized. A few other player moves and even more, this weekend disc golf. What's good all you disgenerates? It's me, Swiss Cheese, of course, the one best known for all the holes in his game. And I'm coming at you with another This Week in Disc Golf, the show that helped kick off the disc golf world, which is just the nephew and Uncle YouTube channel that brought our obtrusive, fast-paced, scripted content to the podcast dominated scene, changing the game in more ways than just titles, though we may never get credit for it. And this one should be a short one cuz I really got some packing to do, but not before I unpack my thoughts on the latest PDGA's 2028 World's announcement. Yeah, that did happen despite it falling below most people's radar. But not to worry because it really was kind of a lackluster announcement unless you're part of the Foundation crew cuz it's in their backyard once again as our sports premiere event will be heading to Lynchburg, Virginia for 2028. Now, I know what most of you might be thinking, and I get it. We're the ones who coined Hineholds Hill and was critical of it being awarded a worlds the first time prior to running an event there. And though the reference might date me, I'm not going to do what everyone thinks I'm going to do. And that's [clears throat] by completely [ __ ] on this selection. Albeit, there really wasn't one. Cuz future tournament director Nate Heinhold and the city was awarded the bid after running uncontested, which just might be worse optics than current PDGA president Hinhold being awarded yet another world for what will be his third in only 5 years once it returns to New London in 2028. And despite all of that, this latest announcement just proves our sports bid process is and has been completely broken. And one, in my opinion, that the PDGA can simply no longer ignore. The sport's pinnacle event has made giant strides as of late, while also showing how successful and lucrative it can be for the sport, simply by what we witnessed in Finland this past year.
