The PDGA announces not only the return of the IDGC, but a competitive major in Champions Cup with a Hall of Famer attached to the design, no less. A new number one on the PDGA's World Ranking list, just not on the MO side, and really not too much more, this weekend disc golf. Welcome back, disgenerates. You guys certainly know, but for the ones who might not, they call me Swiss cheese simply because of the numerous and just to allow Jefferson to clip it later, gaping holes in my game. And I'm here to bring you all the disc golf news from the past week. But really, I'm just only one half of the disc golf world. There's the nephew that I just mentioned, and for me, I'm just the uncle that never grew up on the channel that's revered by many and repulsed by just as much, but still will never stop us from covering the sport in our own way. But before Swiss can get into things, we got to give a huge shout out for the donation from Chuckster, Spike, Heiser, Connley, and Discre for hooking us up with 100 glow zone SS's with this sweet disgenerate stamp from the talented Andrew. Now, sandwiched between fans having to determine what is and isn't an April Fool's joke was the PDGA's announcement of the return to Champions Cup to Appling, Georgia, just with a twist. And no, I'm really not alluding to the awarding of a third major in consecutive years to Lynchberg, cuz that was slipped in the bottom of this announcement just like a zin around Turner. But we'll get to all that just a little later. First, the good news, cuz we can all use a little bit of that. the property that was devastated by a pine beetle infestation back in 2023 that not only caused the clearing of hundreds of acres throughout the Wildwood Park, but also ushered the beginning of the Touring Champions Cup across the nation. All three courses at the International Disc Golf Center were affected only to be devastated further by Hurricane Helen later.
