KJ's return to Prodigy puts a bow on the off season. DGPT goes and makes a number of announcements, but it's their deleted social media post that had the most people talking. Big news out of Finland as disc golf will be broadcast exclusively on MTV. No, not that one, but the Katsumo one. And not too much more This Week in Disc Golf. What's good you disgenerates? I'm your host, Swiss Cheese, of course, the one with all the holes. Back at it again for another episode of This Week in Disc Golf, the show where I cover all the news surrounding the sport from the past week on the channel that brings you hard-hitting scripted content in a fraction of the time of the other guys and maybe with some humor sprinkled in that comes off about as dry as your grandma and Vessy's or what's better known as the disc golf world. First, let's get into the latest offseason player announcements that had a few more notes than just the Prodigy and Kevin Jones remix with a one-year deal, which really didn't have that too successful of a tease. In large part due to the fact that KJ was one of the few remaining free agents left this late in the offseason, and our own reporting that he had a contract offer on the table with the brand weeks ago, but the two have repartnered up after a somewhat tumultuous split that not only came mid-season, but mid-contract in 2024. However, Couted return home after a year and a half apart still has created some buzz around the community and brand. Prodigy, not really making too much of a splash this off seasonason with bigger name free agents, adds KJ to a squad that maintains exposure on tour and other content through this signing. For Prodigy, the signing certainly makes sense with them owning molds that were once part of KJ's disc lineup and gambling on the possibility that Jones can recapture his success and popularity from the early 2020s. And for Kevin, the signing brings a familiar landing spot and bag in what was an unreliable free agent market. Jones certainly still has marketability, and with him repartnering up alongside friends in Luke Humphre and Jake Heenheimer could see a rejuvenated boost in his disc golf career.
