The Northwest Disc Golf Championships came to a close in a dramatic fashion, sparking controversy among fans and players alike. Hosts Jefferson and Swiss Cheese recap the event, which saw Paul Uli kick off round one on top of the leaderboard with an impressive 11 under par. I'm Jefferson and alongside me as always, Swiss cheese, recapping everything you need to know from the Northwest Disc Golf Championship. And the first thing we should all understand is that this event really needs a new name. Other than that, this tournament is a favorite for both fans and players. a staple on the Pro Tour and the first time as an Alita plus combining the famous Milo MacGyver and Glendeir East. Overall, the event went controversy free until the very last hole. But we can't just skip to the very end. So, how about we get straight into the MO recap? Paul Uli kicked off round one on top of the leaderboard with an 11 under, two strokes better than second place. The 1079 rated round was impressive, nailing four out of six putts from outside the circle. Day two, the scores looked more like what us at home expected. A charging Ganon Burr blasting a 1080 12 under, securing possession of first and a lead on the field. Two strokes over Paul McBth who would jump up nine spots himself also with a 12 under. Went 16 for 16 inside the circle and it started to look like vintage McBth. Unfortunately, that wouldn't continue as he would start round three five over through the front nine. He wasn't able to recover from there which dropped him 12 spots and sadly it didn't get better. Ga would only manage a seven under but still had the lead. Now tied with Anthony Burella who put together a 12 under of his own. At one point snagging seven birdies in a row to complete the 1085 rated round now at 27 under for the event. Five strokes ahead of second place Cory Ellis and Kyle Klene who rounded out the final day lead card. However, Isaac Robinson would be the first to make noise on championship Sunday, going five down through the front nine, pushing up the leaderboard, adding extra pressure. Ganon would start off the round with the birdie, taking the lead early as AB wouldn't be able to convert on his outside the circle look.
