BAD Look For Disc Golf

Disc Golf is facing an issue that's causing concern among players and officials alike. The role of a Marshall, who is supposed to provide clear rulings during the game, has become inconsistent, leading to confusion and frustration on the course. Jefferson, a disc golf enthusiast, discusses this problem with his friend Swiss Cheese, who jokingly refers to himself as having "holes in his game." They also mention Ganon Burr's recent controversy and Charlie Eisenhood's insights from an Upshot podcast discussion. Jefferson highlights the need for a clear understanding of the Marshall's role, emphasizing that their job is to help players make correct rulings. He questions why some Marshalls are not providing consistent guidance, leading to a lack of clarity and fairness on the course. With the Jonesboro Open event as a recent example, Jefferson argues that this inconsistency is a horrible look for the sport, making it essential to address this issue and find a solution that prioritizes player safety and fair play.

Some fans going as far to say he is bad for disc golf. But before we can get into all that, let's talk about an ongoing problem that we should all agree is a horrible look for the sport as a whole. We can discuss Ganon not being able to tell time, but what's worse is the Marshalss. On the Upshot podcast, Charlie Eisenhood shared this information. >> The Marshall told them that he wasn't going to be making any calls at the beginning of the round and that all the calls were in the players hands. And they went to the marshall and they asked, "Hey, what is the rule in this situation?" And he said, "This is on you guys. This is according to Ganon Burr." So, they didn't get a like a basically a rules clarification from the marshall. At which point I have to agree with like Bryce and be like what's the point? What are we doing here? And this is where I just have an issue overall which is that round to round things are being treated extremely differently depending on who the marshall is. >> And we just cannot have that. We must have a clear focused sense of what the job of the marshall is. And certainly the marshall should always always always always be there to help the players make the correct ruling. >> What's the point of having a marshall if they aren't going to do their job? Actually, last week might have given a reason. >> Let's get it out in the open. Conversation about the play...
