The 2026 German National Disc Golf Championships return to the beautiful Zag course for the high-stakes final round, featuring intense competition among top players. This segment captures the crucial third-round action where strategic adjustments are essential as the wind picks up, creating challenging conditions for everyone on the lead card. Timo Hartmann enters the round with a commanding four-stroke lead, having maintained consistent play over the previous two days. However, he faces strong challenges from six-time German champion Simon Lizotte, who is seeking a historic seventh national title and looking to shake off some inconsistency. Also vying for the top spot are Yiannis Placzek, who maintained his position on the lead card after a solid performance, and Martin Gehring. Often cited as a dark horse in the 2026 fields, Gehring brings a down-to-earth demeanor that fans love while competing against elite talent. The broadcast highlights specific course dynamics, particularly the dangerous par three on Hole 1, which features an out-of-bounds left and requires precise shot selection against the wind. Viewers will follow these key players as they navigate the tiny hills and attackable windows of the Zag layout. With the title on the line and memories of past performances fueling the competition, this final round promises dramatic swings in the standings and high-quality putting. Watch as these professionals execute layups and manage pressure in one of the most anticipated moments of the season.

Here we go again with a third round of the 2026 German Championships from beautiful Zag as you're watching MDG media and my name is Chris and next to me is a man who does not need an introduction Mr. Simon Lizotte. >> Welcome to moving day. Moves have to be made adjustments need to be made from yesterday's round. Maybe not for this guy though. Timo consistent two rounds so far four down four down got a four stroke lead. >> And here we get Simon. >> Yeah. >> A little bit Mr. Inconsistent. And stayed on lead card for some more action. >> And last but not least Martin Gearing 978 rated as I said yesterday a little bit of the dark horse here but one of my favorite players. Wow, so good memories. Is there any coverage available? Probably no coverage from that one. But I actually disced up here to a time lapse due to the wind. Wanted to throw it low and hard. Oh, can it skip up the hill? Finally coming into the line. That was a good feeling. That was a good line. Even though he was struggling a little bit with this hole, let's see if he can do better today. Uh, that is a...
