2025 MVP's Open at Austin | MPO R2F9 | Hammes, Klein, Barela, Mäkelä | Jomez Disc Golf
The 2025 MVP's Open at Austin is underway, and round two front coverage is here to bring you all the action from Splinter Valley. Big Barry commentary provides play-by-play of this windy round, where the goal is simple: keep the disc going down and to the left on hole one with a triple mando shot. For most players, a mid-range or putter approach will suffice, as trying to navigate the forehand flex shot around the corner can result in a bogey. The field is strong, featuring top players like Adam Hem, who took the bull by the horns yesterday and is starting the round off on a high note after his win at last week's Waco. Evan Smith, Kyle Klene, and Anthony Bella are also making moves early on, showcasing their skills in this challenging format. With injuries from the 2024 season seemingly behind Kyle Klene, watch as he takes aim for a fresh start and potential success in this pivotal round.

Hello and welcome to round two front coverage of the MO League Card here at the 2025 MP MVPs Open at Austin presented by Flight Factory Discs. Big Barry commentary bringing you the action on this uh quite significantly more windy round two at Splinter Valley. Yeah, they tricked us. The weather report in the middle of the week was like, yeah, you know, it's going to be windy in practice, a couple windy days, and then boom. Calm all the way through the tournament. Mhm. Lies. Lies. Well, they're usually pretty good about it, but this time, who? Uh, I don't know. The people that go to school for it and stuff. Oh yeah, math meteorologist or whatever you called him that one time. Uh, triple mando on hole one. The objective is just to keep the disc going down and to the left. You don't really need to make the corner around with a forehand flex shot. If you try to do that, you'll probably end up throwing it short and you'll probably take a bogey. It is downhill. Um, midstability, I would say. Please welcome Adam Hem. Adam really took the bull by the horns yesterday. Played very well. Very cool, calm and collected, riding high off his win from last week's Waco. Yeah, a little 12 under, but he's starting the round off not in the lead. Yeah, Evan Smith 1300. That's what happens. People go out there early, start shredding it up. Evan Smith is going to take a win down this season. Damn, that is a welcomeyle. I like it. That's That's what that is. That is a I like it statement. Kyle Klene, player who suffered some pretty nagging injuries in the 2024 season. He's looking pretty fresh and spry early in the 2025. Not a lot of people throw it better than this kid, let me tell you. Always. He is always throwing too. And that's how you get to be so good at throwing. Anthony Bella, he looks like he's going to be trying this forehand. This is more of a turnover, not so much a flex. I like the angle. And it's going to...
