The 2025 DGPT Championship is underway at New London Disc Golf Course in Bedford County and Lynchburg, Virginia. The first nine holes of round one have been completed, showcasing a unique format where players start with a stroke advantage, setting them apart from those who began even par. The top contenders include Silva, Holland, and Gannon, while Lisa Vegas and Paige Pierce are hot on their heels after an impressive comeback in the final hole. The course features 18 holes, including the challenging par-three 10th, which demands precision with backhand straight shots to avoid a treacherous tree-lined fairway. Players will need to master mid-ranges and fairway drivers to navigate this layout without out of bounds. With no cuts or penalties, the focus is on executing each shot comfortably and strategically. Watch as these top players showcase their skills in this wild format, highlighting techniques from Holland, Gannon, Scoggins, Saarinen, Jomez Disc Golf, and others.

Hello and welcome to the back nine of round one of the 10th Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship presented by Barbasole. We are in Bedford County and Lynchburg, Virginia at New London Disc Golf Course. I'm Erica Cinchcom. >> I'm Madison Walker. Easier said than done, honk. Uh yeah, we are watching kind of a wild format. If you didn't watch the front nine, our leaders here started with a stroke advantage. Uh that's why the scores don't quite add up mathematically. Um Silva and own and Holland all tied up at the top. Lisa Vegas shooting six down to a tie for fourth with Paige Pierce. Yeah, coming all the way up from the last card where we started out at even par. So, pretty impressive showing from Lisa. And this format is wild. Yeah, it's just the strokes in the beginning and then we play four. Everyone plays four rounds. Um, no cuts or anything like that. Hole 10's a par three, 262 ft. The thing you're really trying to do is miss that one kind of large tree right behind those two small ones on the right side that kicks you way short left. You can see Holland erroring early and she's going to hit the that one tree on the left side. You want to avoid >> Yeah. tunnel shot master. >> Lovely. I see. Finding that early kick can be difficult to scramble. own getting through so nicely and I think checks up as well inside the circle. Missy throwing her second shot. A lot more work than you want for a par. O, >> but well managed. >> Mhm. B. Oh, whoa. Holland. They just look the same, you know. Uh, straddled out in front of a tree doesn't look super comfortable. Kind of has to arm that forehand. That's great. Oh no. Missy, you going to have to settle for another bogey. Silva for birdie. Uh, this hole, let's see, averaged at almost a halfstroke underpar,...
