2019 GBO | WOMEN | R1B9 | Pierce, Bjerkaas, Panis, Walker
The 2019 Glass Blown Open (GBO) women's tournament is underway at the prestigious Country Club. Commentary duo Zoe and Ike are joined by Page Pierce as they dissect the second half of Round One, also known as the back nine holes. The competition is fierce, with Kona in 12th place and Rebecca tied for the lead with one of the commentators. The back nine poses significant challenges, particularly on par-3 hole 10, where a downhill shot requires careful consideration to avoid obstacles like OB lining both sides of the fairway. Pierce shares her insights on navigating this tricky hole, emphasizing the importance of avoiding overflipping and managing gravity-driven throws to the left side. With 391 feet of distance to cover, Page must land precisely to get up and down from the green, making for a tense and thrilling conclusion to Round One of the GBO women's tournament.

hi we're back here for the glass blown open and this is the second half of round one the back nine oh my goodness it's at the Country Club and I can't wait to see what goes on in the action with these ladies for the second half of the round this is national pour stop number two of six currently Kona is sitting in twelfth I'm in a tie for first page beer cos it's in a tie for ninth and Madison isn't a tie for 22nd Rebecca is also tied for the lead with me so we'll see how things take up on the back nine here as it gets quite a bit tougher I am Zoe and Ike and I'm joined by page Pierce here on the commentary so looking at hole 10 its 391 feet definitely have some uphill elevation at first to a drastic downhill dip before you get to a semi wooded green OB lining the whole right side of the fairway and a sidewalk left lining the left side of the fairway yeah and since the hole plays downhill the OB is really tricky my thoughts on the tee pad are don't flip it over because it's such an easy thing to do to turn it over there out-of-bounds kind of where Kona's challenging luckily she got that variable finished but that is a mistake that's pretty easy to make so you know then you think you want to throw Heiser but then the left side yeah the gravity is just it's pulling your disc to the left-hand side no matter what you're doing if you're if you're throwing ready backhand no matter how you want to finish that downhill is gonna pull you to the left mhm yeah yeah kinda just like that I landed OB down there but you know close to the basket height but you don't want to be getting a bogey on this par 3 and there's that bit of uphill to start the hole that I was talking about I know on my card we saw a little bit of that too it's challenging when you have a downhill shot with the beginning being uphill yeah but pages safe at least but she still has quite a bit of distance to make up for totally doable those 391 the holy yes so here she is hoping to...
