Kat Mertsch On Balancing Her Mentality During The Round, Practicing By Herself & Her Home State
Kat Mertsch sits down to discuss her approach to balancing her mentality during competition rounds and practicing on her own. The Arkansas native shares her experience playing in front of a home crowd at Disc Side of Heaven, a venue that brings out her fun-loving side. Kat opens up about focusing on her mental state, using techniques like detachment while staying present, and the fine line between being mindful and getting caught up in the moment. She also talks about having goals for the upcoming event and how she likes to practice solo due to her desire for self-awareness and comfort in her own skin. With a dash of humor, Kat shares her reasoning for sprinting through the round to pick up her friend Nico, and explains how solo practice helps her avoid worrying about affecting others' energy or vibes.
Watch Kat Mertsch discuss her mental prep for disc golf competition & self-practice techniques from her home state.
