hello race fans welcome to disc golf daily it's Monday and we're the podcast that gets you caught up with this golf growth and news in just 10 minutes if you hear something you like share it with a friend now smash that volume button and let's get to it the number one news story of the day congratulations to team Isaac and team Missy on their All-Star wins that's about it for me on the allstars here's my Allstar Weekend takeaways I'm reminded of this Saturday Night Live skit about the Long Island election to replace George Santos uh I don't know if you know this guy he's he's the guy that would be a brain surgeon or a rock star if you if you would just believe anyway this skit points out that no matter how much we try we can get very little information from that one election that points to bigger implications for the entire country and they do a very funny job of of trying and it's funny that we try to do that with the allstars I'll go ahead and say one of my takeaways I don't love watching players play showcase events in the rain um I genuinely learn nothing about who is ready for the season except that maybe Katrina Allen who normally plays well in the rain might not be uh the head-to-head scoring was really hard to follow as was the disc several times it's a it's a preseason event we got to we got to get all the Kinks worked out uh I will say there is going to be some exciting competition in the women's division elzra midling wins the distance competition uh she is no fluke uh Morgan and Jordan Lind we've been hearing their names uh towards the end of last year uh they are serious contenders uh they got third and fourth in putting it was really fun having them there as a little showcase they will both be competing in chess.com invitationals as well as El as as well as elzra the Inova blog this is a kind of an aside but the Inova blog told me about a guy named Calvin lonquist he also is no joke in March 2021 his rating was 926 in March of 2022 it was 969 9 in March of 2023 it was 993 basically going up 40...
