hi my name is jesse a trash panda and gatekeeper media and i have partnered up to bring you five tips to be a more eco-friendly disc golfer in 2022 and our first tip is to use a reusable water bottle here are some quick facts 1 million single-use plastic water bottles are sold around the world every minute and each single-use plastic water bottle will take 450 years to decompose while the number one piece of trash i continue to find on the disc golf course is plastic water bottles so why don't we avoid them all together this is my reusable water bottle simply just by using it i'm saving the equivalent of at least 1 460 plastic water bottles every year and on top of that i end up saving money in the long run and it keeps my drink colder for way longer so be an eco-friendly disc golfer and buy a hydro flask today not an ad our third tip is something you may already be doing buying used disks disc golf is one of the fastest growing sports globally which is such a great thing but along with its growth inevitably comes a massive increase in plastic production for example i'd estimate that over 50 million discs were produced in 2021 which totals to over 18 million pounds of plastic created by the disc golf community alone and even that estimate is conservative so one of the best ways you can keep the planet in mind while buying discs in 2022 is to buy used and as an added benefit they're often cheaper and beaten to perfection and speaking of cheaper even though our third tip is free it may just be the most valuable one and that's to pick up one piece of trash if you've been playing for at least one day then you know that our courses can unfortunately be littered with trash and i remember one time looking around at all of the trash on a course thinking that the task of picking it up was insurmountable but then i had this thought what if every person who played picked up one piece of trash each round i mean just think about it some of our courses would be clean after just one day alright it's cold out here so when it comes to trash on the course we can...
