what's up everyone and welcome to the round one back nine coverage of the 2022 texas state disc golf championships sponsored by latitude 64. this is the third stop of the disc golf pro tour and you're watching it here on gatekeeper media my name is mitch phillips joining me is my good buddy hayden ricard talking about the front nine man a lot of ups and downs mason ford you know hit on a birdie streak there going through the middle pack four birdies in a row but a lot of struggles too i was expecting a little bit more open up with the conditions that we've got today yeah some of our players struggle a little bit kevin and connor still over par looking to correct and just be able to just take advantage of you know these conditions today because if we're in texas the win is going to happen but as we check in with the front nine and some of our players throughout the round some hot scores coming in no one cracking into those double digits i'm sure we're going to see that as the round continues talk us through hole 10. yep 426 feet par-3 really want to push past these trees here get all the way down but you don't want to go too far that ob road right there behind it it's about 15 feet which is pretty close yeah 426 feet usually you don't combine distance and control at the very end but this one really does have it all blind off the tee as well this looks early ah just catching that last limb still not over from there it's a scary approach with how fast this hardpacked sand can get you just got to watch your touch there and make sure it uh settles down right next to the basket or inside circle this looks good from connor kevin think i could go in just a little short left line so i mean in that general direction you're gonna like oh that's good a little bit low here from mason oh it catches the skip though perfect put him to circle's edge the look for the birdie that was a really great skit ah kevin's pulled it just a little bit see if he can fight through keep fighting i mean that's best result you can get out...
