hello and welcome disc golf fans to the front nine coverage of round one of the 2021 ledgestone insurance open presented by discraft the world leader in disc sports i'm brian earhart joined here by my co-host nate perkins nate it feels like the second world championships every single year here at eureka you mean absolutely yeah eureka lake we've been coming to this course since 2015 and it honestly hasn't changed in four years it's been the same course all these players are really familiar with it i always like to call this event the major of the midwest yes absolutely and and the the environment out here is electric there's a huge am side event there's like seven or eight courses that are being utilized maybe even more seventeen hundred and fifty players in the a tier event along with 200 competitors in the pro tour event and let's jump into it hole number one one of my favorite opening shots in disc golf not necessarily the toughest par four to start out with but it's just a beautiful water carry it's spectator friendly it makes you throw a flex shot we have matt oram eagle mcmahon thomas earhart and pr andrew presnell this is going to be a treat of a round to watch and that is picture perfect high fleck shot that's going to get back to the left there's ob gravel long you really have to flip one over to get to that ob yeah this isn't the toughest hole but because it is hole one and because there is a 330 foot water carry can kind of get in your head a little bit and you'll see players kind of take take an overstable disc and really force it over so that they don't throw anything nose up and hyzer into the water and eagle has thrown that a little high but i believe it has the distance to get over the ridge of that hill no problem and this is my younger brother tom earhart uh for a while him and gavin shared the title of number one player in illinois tom has one of the nastiest spin putts i have potentially ever seen this is a force oh he's got that thumb way out on the rim yeah kind of just pinching the rim trying to push the nose down that is...
