hello and welcome disc golf fans to the front nine coverage of round one of the 2021 idol wild open presented by dynamic discs i'm brian earhart joined here by nate perkins and we are back at an iconic track for disc golf nate yeah we've been coming here since 2017. every year it's hot and humid you can't avoid it the hills of kentucky very tight and technical track we've got james conrad number one player in the world ricky wysocki zach melton and dave felberg coming off a masters world title just a week ago you know he kind of seemed like he disappeared for a little bit he has a lot of other little things going on in the disc golf world but he is still here and he's ready to play moving into hole number one this holes pretty much unchanged for a long time they like the eagleable par 4 to start the round 638 feet with the slope going down to the right righties do have an option to air one out to circle one in the current and three times consecutive masters world champs give it up for dan feldberg and speaking of technical players nate if you watch some old footage of dave felberg we're talking like 2008 world champion dave feldwork this is potentially one of the most technical backhand shot shapers the game has ever seen especially with power it's pretty special to see how similar his form is to his form from a decade yeah it's almost completely unchanged it's incredible in his putt his little robotic butt motion virginia representing team mvp your current world champion and past worthy wow champion james conrad and i forgot exactly where this came from but there was a quote from dave felberg i believe that said that james plays the game how he i believe wished he could play the game another phenomenal almost the evolution of you know technicality in this game is this long-haired beautiful man yeah we had a little bit of a tailwind left to right and james turns that photon over a little a little too quick the only real danger on this hole is not turning it over and finding that ob line on the left holder and this is a man who is not too shabby at scrambling in the woods winning last week...
