What would you change and keep about the PDGA? | Grip Locked Clips
The PDGA and its rating system - topics that often come up in conversations among disc golf enthusiasts. In this video, Grip Locked Clips explores what would change and stay the same within the PDGA's realm. The creator breaks down three levels of discussion, from a high-level overview to specific, in-depth analysis. They touch on the ease of running events through the PDGA, a feature that many appreciate, and propose significant changes to the rating system, which they believe is broken and no longer accurately reflects player skill. With a focus on amateur players, the creator proposes two potential solutions: either removing the rating system for professional status players or creating a more nuanced system where ratings are only visible to players below a certain level. This video offers an engaging discussion of the PDGA's strengths and weaknesses, making it a valuable resource for disc golf fans looking to dive deeper into the sport's governing body.

one thing we want to do is kind of come up with this this different topic that we can kind of talk through for a little bit which is i guess you could call it a game but not really basically i have three different levels here and i'm gonna ask you for and i'll give my answers to one thing that you would keep the same and one thing that you would like to see change within this realm um so the first one is within the pdga what is something that you would keep the same that you really like what the pdj is doing and if you were in complete charge of the pdga what is one thing that you would change right um so as far as what i would keep the same i would the thing i like most about the pdga is how easy it is to run an event i think like it's super easy to get a tournament up and running approved ready to go it's easy to join them that is something that i like about the pdj and something that i would keep um and then what i would change is the rating system the rating system is quite broken i don't think it's been updated you know i think they've been using the same system for a long time i mean have they ever changed it no this is the only rating system it came during the climate era yeah is when ratings first started i would change the rating system i'm not i don't have like some master genius plan of what i think it should be but i know there's a lot of flaws to it um and i also think that i would i think the rating system is so much more relevant to amateur players that i would either make it one of two things one either a as soon as you're a professional status player you no longer have a rating or maybe like it's there like the rating exists in the system but like it's not visible like nobody sees your rating because like it doesn't matter or b once you get above a thousand rated you're just a and a thousand rated that's what i would do so if i and like you could even be like 10.50 but it just says...
