Trevor is outraged by Ledgestone's payout | Grip Locked

Trevor is outraged by Ledgestone's payout, which he believes is a prime example of the disparities in pay for professional disc golfers. Historically, the richest person in the sport, Patrick "Popeye" McIlvenna, has taken home significant amounts of money from events like the Ledgestone Open. In this video, Trevor breaks down the payout structure for the 2023 event, which saw a total purse of $93,300. The male-dominated field received 76% of the purse, while the female players in the MPO division earned significantly less, with FPO winner Katrina Allen taking home just $1,700 - approximately 10% of her category's purse. Trevor notes that had the PGA Tour adopted a similar payment structure, top players like Ricky Wysocki would have earned much more substantial prizes.

so ledgestone historically has a lot of added cash it's the richest person disc golf this year i think it was close to 50 000 added something like that their total purse was like 93 3 000 for mpo and fpo so how that broke down was just straight up on the percentage of how many men there were how many women there were so the mpo purse was 76 000 and the fpo purge was 17 000. which that breakdown is perfect yeah it matches up to the percent of how many people were in each division based on the field total yeah so the 82 yeah 82 were men they got eighty percent of the purse 18 18 yeah so here's where it gets a little criminal fpo winner katrina allen gets 1700 which was 10 of the purse right so she got 10 of the fpo purse approximately it was a little bit i guess technically less than that but hundred dollars even about ten percent of the purse mpo winner ricky wysocki i don't know why i said his name weird uh got six thousand dollars yeah eight percent of the purse yeah so which the fpo field size was smaller so that's probably why like katrina got two percent more of you know higher pay rate whatever you want to talk about that but um that's probably just the field size breakdown thing but in general if they were on the pga tour yeah if the pga or if the pro tour adopts the pga tour payment breakdown ricky would have got thirteen thousand seven hundred and forty five dollars for winning because that's what eighteen percent yeah it's eighteen percent and katrina allen would have got three thousand one hundred and forty four dollar dollar twenty so you gotta double both of them pretty much the like winning one of these events just like and this is this is another thing like that just keeps going along our narrative that the pro tour needs to be like for the big dogs only yeah like winning needs to be like big time money these some of these top players like they've got serious contracts with their manufacturers like they're making some in some cases over a million dollars or like a lot of money you know so guess what you know six thousand dollars little...
