They Need to Separate... | Grip Locked Clips

The Pro Tour's playoff format has been under scrutiny, particularly regarding its similarity to aggregate play, a concept often seen on other professional sports tours. The plan was initially described as an "aggregate playoff" between 18 and one, suggesting a potential for two signature holes in the final event. However, it appears that the format shifted to conform more closely with traditional playoff rules, leaving some players and fans questioning the need for separate formats. The PDGA's handling of waivers and rule changes has also been a point of contention, with some arguing that the Pro Tour should have more autonomy when it comes to tournament rules. This video explores the controversy surrounding the Pro Tour's playoff format and discusses the implications of these rule changes on the sport as a whole.

foreign commenters were talking about the plan was like an aggregate playoff between 18 and one yeah so essentially they were gonna play 18. well they probably played one first I'd imagine but no I was gonna go 18. They're gonna play 18 then they're gonna play one guaranteed guaranteed two holes and then from there if it wasn't decided by the guarantee you typically would go to sudden death so that's what they were talking about but then it like they got word or I don't know which is cool whatever happened but they were like oh it turns out we're just doing a traditional playoffs it's 18 and one looping um because the PDGA didn't improve the waiver what does that even mean like what is that even this is reason number 5796.48 section D of why the pro tour should be separate from the pgga is so pretentious that they're like no like if you want to differ all from our playoff rules like you can't you can't do it you have to be our rules like you have to get a waiver for like again it's something that makes sense on the C tier level like if I want to just run a random event and I want to just throw out these Island rules and stuff like that yes I should have to go to the PDGA ask for a waiver so they can get all the details and be like what are you trying to do with your tournament but for the Pro Tour like I think that it's okay for them to use slightly different rules unless it wasn't even a complex thing no it's just they want to do an aggregate play like this is cool like that's a that's a fun because it's like the final playoff event of the year like it's they get to play two signature holes in their playoff guaranteed like I I think that's cool I think that's there's a there's an event on the PGA tour that that messed around with that it may have been the US Open it was yeah that did like an aggregate playoff yeah it was um and like that's that's cool like it's a fresh idea it's a way to separate things not a dumb idea like it looks cool and what like what are we do we know...
