hey what is up everyone and welcome back to plastic addict we all love special edition stamps whether that may be from a tournament we played in or something that is completely different and unique in this episode i'm going to be trying to hot stamp my very own discs with the foundation logo so let's hop right in the first thing we need to understand is the process of hot stamping successfully hot steaming a disc is achieved by taking foil and essentially bonding it to the plastic disc surface now to bond the two together that requires three key things that requires heat pressure and time these three elements of hot stamping have to be balanced too much heat and you'll burn the foil and melt into the mold and too much pressure and you can warp the mold and too much bonding and you can burn both the mold and the foil all of these elements without the proper process causes problems luckily there's a machine that can help us get the right balance to perfect the art of hot stamping so let me introduce you to the hot stamping machine these come in many shapes and sizes the one i have here is one of the smallest you can buy however this machine is still very capable on a much larger scale manufacturers use the same machine to stamp their disks they use the same process as you will see here shortly to get started let's first identify the things we're going to need throughout the hot staining process and to make things easy you can pick up all of these on highpressurestamps.com first we have the machine itself this is what we use to bond the foil to the disc next we have the foil that will be the pattern on the stamp the third thing we have is this piece of wood this is going to go under the disc so that when we press down with the machine the disc stays flat and doesn't cave in at the middle and the last thing we have is a die and this is a piece of metal right here that is cut with any cnc router and you can actually put any design you like and this is the pattern and the mold essentially that you're going to see on your disc and this one...
