Should the Pro Tour extend Circle 1? A growing consensus among golf enthusiasts suggests that extending Circle 1 would be a positive change for players. Steve Abreu offers an alternative perspective, proposing that players should not be able to jump putt within Circle 1. This would add another layer of strategy and accuracy to the game. The potential implications for course designers are also discussed, as it could lead to more creative and challenging greens. With various opinions on the matter, this video invites viewers to weigh in on the debate and consider the potential impact on their own gameplay experience.

i don't really think it's that debatable anymore i think a lot of people agree with it but the main take was that circle one should be extended so you can't jump up uh but this take i hadn't heard yet it was from steve abreu hopefully i pronounced that last name right he said you shouldn't be able to step or jump putt into circle one so if you're right outside you can only move forward as far as the edge of the circle interesting so like if you're step putting from 37 feet or 35 feet you only have two feet in front of your lie interesting i don't know how you would enforce it as much but i thought that was a good take it would definitely add another element for players that have to look i don't like it simply for that reason i like in the sense of where um a 34-footer doesn't isn't become a closer putt than a 32-footer yeah i like that but i don't like the fact that right now we're already having players that don't like having to make calls on other players so now you're going to be adding another thing for players that have to watch to see like oh your toe touched the line like and a lot of times we're playing courses that don't have lines yeah right so you know we have to kind of you know you know you either eyeball and be like okay you're definitely outside of circle one and you can step putt or you legitimately like use a rangefinder or whatever it is to see that you're outside because sometimes we just have those little feather things that are like 15 feet apart from one another so playing playing a course like that where there's not even a circle one line like that just sounds one thing that sounds not fun i feel like we've talked about this i don't know if on this show or on grip locked but i just thought of it again and i don't remember where we landed on it but the idea was essentially instead of having a designated like circle one is 50 feet and you can't jump putt within 50 feet instead of having that almost making it where you can design greens yeah i don't i think i like that idea...
