PDGA Gets Flamed After Players Get Heat Exhaustion At Masters Worlds
The PDGA, or Professional Disc Golf Association, is facing backlash after players experienced heat exhaustion at the Masters World Championships. Jay Reading, a disc golfer and advocate for player safety, shares his harrowing experience of suffering from heat-related illness due to inadequate water provision on the course. Despite being well-hydrated and prepared, Jay's body struggled with the extreme temperatures and lack of water sources, forcing him to leave the tournament for self-preservation. This incident raises questions about the effectiveness of the PDGA's own water policy recommendations. Joining the conversation is Jay Reading, who has been researching and promoting water management strategies in disc golf. He will share his findings on the importance of adequate water provision, including the PDGA's specific guidelines and recommendations for players, tournament staff, and event organizers.
