today i want to show you guys what i think is the absolute best drill in disc golf for the backhand throw um it's super easy to do you can do it anywhere if you're at home you can do it or at your job although don't do it too much because you might get fired um but it you know it works on a few different things including timing and the reach back and i think it's going to help you guys get some more distance consistency accuracy just kind of overall improve your backhand and uh yeah with that being said let's jump right into it so in a full speed throw what happens with the reach back the timing of it all is when you get to the actual x-step the disc stops moving until you pull through at the last second so you get to the extent the disc stays right here you plant four wall you can see the disc stays in one spot and then you pull through so i'll do that in slow motion kind of again the disc stops moving and you pull through and what that does is it eliminates any kind of rounding with the with the disc it keeps everything on one line and it gets uh also kind of an explosive elastic movement with your arm at the end where it goes and snaps forward so to mimic that for this drill um what we're going to do is we're going to stand kind of in the x step position we'll just just stand with your feet together like this get the disc on your kind of underneath your left pec and then all we're going to do is keep the disc in one spot and then step forward with the right foot as if it's the last step of the throw and try to just keep the disc in one spot so like that so that's that's all you do so there's no there's no actual like reach back with your arm just stays in one spot step forward and then just you know do the continuation of it so it's just you stay here and that's it so you can just do that a bunch of times just to get the reps in and get kind of the feeling of what that that feels like to...
