foreign hello and welcome back to disc golf Network's coverage of round one of the 2022 United States Disc Golf Championship we are in Rock Hill South Carolina on the Winthrop Arena course looking forward to the back nine Nate Sexton and Brian Earhart back nine is an interesting stretch you can either save year round or it can absolutely go south I've seen so many players lose the mental battle on this back nine despite all the opportunities and speaking of opportunities hole number 10 this is an opportunity to take an eagle on this course 549 feet we're flying over out of bounds the entire way we're just now getting to the inbounds right here and it's maybe 35 40 feet around this basket so players have the option we can go for the green right side or we can lay up and throw way left and make a true par 4 out of this hole yeah and that 549 is measured around to the left I would say this carry that Macbeth is eyeing up is about 460 to inbounds 485 to the basket and he's done all of that and more perfect shot just a little left on the safer side he'll have a flat putt well inside C1 for the eagle exactly what he needs sitting at one over currently this is going to be that layup play don't want to do too much with this just let it slide softly there's OB left where all those people are standing so if you come in with a lot of edge you could find yourself skipping there but that's well done looks like Matt is also playing for birdie do you think it's about time that the pin gets pushed back do you think that the eagle needs to be made harder at this point wow on a calm day yeah and on a windy day no yeah yeah okay you know it's hard it's hard to predict but yeah I think it's it's fairly appropriate it's a it's a nice reward but as long as the birdie stays one of the easiest on the course which I think this whole is statistically probably the easiest hole in the course then it's a good balance right because you you push for the eagle but you also give away what is almost a sure birdie if you...
