welcome to another edition of this week in disc golf and what a week it was it's september 8th 2022 i'm charlie eisenhood and it was the world championships last week in emporia kansas one new world champion crowned one previous world champion crowned and a 200 000 purse on the line that's the second biggest payday ever in disc golf history behind the 2021 disc golf pro tour championship twenty thousand dollars to the mpo winner eleven thousand dollars to the fpo winner i'm sure you've already seen what happened but let's take a look back at the action that was in emporia we begin in fpo often rolling in round one most consistent player on tour this season kristen tatar opening things up on the island hole one over at the jones supreme course parking it she'd go on to get the birdie hannah blomrose throwing in the annie putt she's getting some birdies going in her opener own scoggins cashing it in from long distance that's what she does look at that scorecard six birdies to close it out after starting with a double bogey and a bogey paige pierce a little bit of early struggles has that one splash out and then overthrows the basket and goes out of bounds she would fall into an early hole as would katrina allen the defending champion meanwhile kristen tatar gets to 10 under on the day she shoots the hot round and the course record she's out in front early how about this shot from ella hansen on the second hole over at emporia ryden the ob the whole way curling it back inbounds massive shot on the par four she would birdie paige pierce she's not going anywhere that's six straight birdies for her krista tatar sitting with a two-shot lead over ella hansen continuing to do what she did all week parking holes with her approach shot missy gannon on the iconic hole 16 yes that will work lots of great disc golf from competitors up and down the lineup own scoggins loving to see that one drop and a little hobbled by a groin injury that she sustained in this second round chris tatar would maintain her lead going into round three it was not quite as good of a start for tatar in that third round she struggled a bit with the putter see...
