welcome to another edition of this week in disc golf it's march 17th 2022 i'm charlie eisenhood and let's break down what happened this week well the waco annual charity opened the second stop on the disc golf pro tour took place this weekend down in waco texas in varying conditions we had wind we had cold we had sun we had calm it was a crazy weather weekend and after all of the dust settled well valerie mondajano wins her first elite series event and paul macbeth wins his 16th pro tour event in 48 tries that's right he's won a third of the pro tour events that he has entered in his career let's take a look at what happened in fpo as valerie mondajano took down the win the story in the early rounds was evelina salinan the finn was tremendous from the t and on her up shots leading the tournament in strokes gained from t to green but in the final round she really started to have the missed putts catch up to her she was dead last in strokes gained from t to green and take a look at some of these early missed opportunities these cost her early in the round she ended up taking five strokes over par in her first four holes and that really dropped her out of contention early in the round meanwhile valerie mondajano starting to get it going this birdie on hole seven would set up a four birdie string kristen tatar meanwhile able to stay close she was just three shots off the lead coming into the round actually went ahead of valerie mondajano at points during this final round this birdie on 16 helped wipe away a two-shot swing on hole 14 that set them up going into 17 mondajano with a one stroke lead so both players clean tee shots tatar goes first with her second shot she just lays up she's not trying to get it down to the green mondajano in a slightly better position could absolutely just choose to lay up instead throws this shot an absolutely beautiful line drive backhand a little bit of turn and sticks it inside the circle the best shot of the tournament putting tons of pressure back onto tar now tatar's third shot the wind pushing left to right pushes tatar's forehand up and right...
