welcome back to another edition of this week in disc golf it's june 9th 2022 i'm charlie eisenhood and here's what happened this week well we had the seventh stop on the disc golf pro tour it was the portland open we're up in the pacific northwest for the first time and it couldn't have been more beautiful and we couldn't have seen more exciting disc golf what a final round in mpo i'm not even going to tell you who won yet let's just get to the highlights mount hood standing in the distance we begin of course in round number one and the otb open winner just last week simon lizot starting off hot early on goes to the forehand on hole eight puts it inside the circle garrett gerthy well he had the putt working this weekend he drops in a couple of bombs here in round one look at that hyzer nose down 10 under for double g in round number one he's off to a great start one of the guys up at the top of the leaderboard isaac robinson shot at 12 down in round one at blue lake he's got it going again in round number two simon lazar tied for the lead without robinson and james proctor showing off the turnover finesse double g weak side chains no problem so we've got ourselves a little bit of a battle brewing girthy five shots back lazad in round three he goes to the roller oh yeah edge of the circle for double g cash on the putt how about simon trying the roller he's got a four shot lead right now on girthy and doing double g's roller one better look at that inside the circle beautiful from lazad girthy again in for the birdie on 18. so we go to the final round lizat three shot lead early in the round over double g pull two sticks it with the hyzer gerthy putter's going nowhere he's red hot crowd loves what they see how about this on hole 11 he's tied it up with lizat this shot is going to be one of the air shots of the year look at the crush that he puts on this disc that's got to be 650 feet coleradalen can't even believe what he's seeing he has to stop and take a look simon lazar...
