welcome to another edition of this week in disc golf it's july 7th 2022 i'm charlie eisenhood let's talk about what happened this week well we had the second fpo major of the season the united states women's disc golf championships took place in madison wisconsin on the token creek and elver park disc golf courses there and for the first time in more than three years we have a brand new fpo major champion hayley king becomes the next first time major winner although she's got a number of elite series including a disc golf pro tour championship to her name she had yet to win a major but she does so in her home state of wisconsin let's take a look at how the action unfolded 89 of the best women in the world playing for that trophy right there round number one maria oliva was getting it going early anheuser backhand panning out at just the right time beautiful shot making from oliva from the t's all weekend owen scoggins going to the flex distance driver forehand early and often gets the birdie there evelina saladin showing off some of the best putting we've seen from her all weekend and that complementing her excellent approach game as always oliva full 11 ticks it off the chains hayley king although she wasn't in front after round one showing off what we would see from her all weekend which was great control of both the forehand and the backhand looking very good in round one we go to round two tight at the top scoggins gets a share of the lead with that long range birdie four players tied at 10 under now make it five o'leva trying to create some separation for four beautiful tap in birdie for oliva king forehand from the knee slides it up to the basket buries it on hole six up the hill great shot making all weekend long from the top women in the world sayonanda putting it close on 13 as she put together a double digit under par round she would go on to shoot 66 straight holes bogey free that's the biggest stretch in the division either fpo or mpo all season long third straight top 10 for ananda meanwhile evelina's carving it up she's hitting her putts katrina she hasn't missed the top five in a major in...
