i've seen what good a connection to nature does disc golf isn't a wild sport it's not in the wilderness but it is a step to that it is a step on the path towards recognizing something bigger than yourself kind of stepping outside of your story just being immersed in nature you know if if somebody can go from a city to a disc golf course they might go from a disc golf course to a mountain that's one of the biggest things that defines this course and disc golf for me is that connection to nature being able to be out in a natural environment is so important to so many people and disc golf brings that into their life for me it means a lot to come back and know that you know what you started somewhere continues on from the first day that we started the green mountain championship like it was always destined to be like that high level elite event green mountain championship winner ricky wysocki sarah holcomb playing super solid golf all tournament we want all of the competitors to come here to feel at home but also to feel that special connection to the area to the mountains to the way of life i think it was in 2014 that i knew that we were going to be on course for something big once we had the the pro tour here year after year once we had worlds hbr kids this is taking on a life of its own and now every year we see the biggest field the strongest competition three-month championship is the ultimate test for the best players in the world steeped in the tradition of wooded golf reminiscent of maple hill all the way to the open fairways and out of bounds of the usdgc if you're going to win the gmc you have to be one of the best players in the world
