Masters Cup | Round 1, Back 9 | C. Allen, Weese, Scoggins, Atwood | FPO Feature
The Masters Cup presented by Innova continues at its picturesque course, where players are navigating a challenging 18-hole layout featuring multiple par 3s. The FPO feature card is on full display, showcasing top talent like Katrina Allen and Jessica Weese. Ella Hansen and Raymond Klein provide expert commentary as they follow the action. Katrina's clean front nine sets her up for success, but it's her clever shot selection that makes a difference in this round. Notably, she employs a "ground play" approach, hitting the ball with precision to squeeze through tight gaps left and right. This technique proves crucial on holes like 10, where she expertly navigates around trees and hills. Throughout the back nine, players face obstacles like trees, hills, and tricky greens. Katie Atwood's path offers a glimpse into this strategy, as she carefully approaches the challenging holes. Watch as these talented disc golfers showcase their skills in this round of the Masters Cup.

hey there welcome back to disc golf network's coverage of the 2022 santa cruz masters cup presented by innova we got our back nine coverage of the fpo feature card for round one my name is ella hansen and i am raymond klein and we're gonna keep following our feature card here we got katrina allen on the feature card a clean front nine no bogeys one down solid golf for her we also got jessica wiese also on our feature card at three over par and own scoggins as well as katie atwood hole 10 is a 363 foot par 3. every hole out here actually is a par 3 this year we've got this nice little small gap that you can hit off the tee there is also sort of a spike hyzer option high right and you're just kind of trying to hit this gap and push pretty much as straight as possible maybe with a little bit of a left finish a couple trees here in the way toward the end of the fairway once you get inside the circles that's about it yeah i think you did a great job definitely one of the guarded greens there's around 16 or 17 trees in the circle which always makes for a fun putt yes katrina lining up this straight gap that's looking great gets a nice skip pushing down the fairway that's a great shot and that ground play is something that you're going to see pretty commonly it's a it's a small gap left and right but it's also a small gap up and down because that hill pushes up pretty high and those trees push down pretty low on playing it much tighter to the ground but still getting that ground play right off the tee you really want to avoid that left side but once you get up over the hill the left side does open up and you can get a fairly clean approach that's great sneaking past that tree throwing her forehand getting past katrina she should have a long look there for her birdie katie following owns path there and kind of going really close to the hill but getting up over the top and this is another hole that's not necessarily a par four but probably a lot of the players are playing it for a three katie taking...
