what's up everybody Brian aart here with Team disc craft in the disc golf Network and you're watching another episode of level up we are here at the disc craft Factory in Wixom Michigan and today we are going to take a step outside the circle we're going to be talking about Circle two putting let's get into it it used to be said for a very long time that if you just made all of your circle one putts you would dominate your local scene but as we've seen on the professional side over the years Circle two putting and Beyond is becoming more and more important to separating yourself from the rest of the field now when I played on the disc golf pro tour and traveled the country playing this game professionally my circle two putting was definitely not my strong suit it was only after I stopped competing that I saw in new players the ticket to learning a solid Circle two putt let me show you what I'm talking about so I was spending some time in a disc golf course one day and a group of brand new players were playing ahead of me and rather than playing through I just sat back took my time and just observed how they played the game and something that I thought was funny is that players who are brand new they don't know the circle one rules they don't know that you have to maintain balance on short putts inside 10 m so what they do from tap in range is they step putt they do what players do from Circle two and Beyond they try to step in front of their lie and get it in the basket as easy as they possibly can and through watching them I realized step putting can be pretty simple and it can be legal there can be no guesses uh if you approach it the way that brand new players approach it so what I did to develop a step putut from shallow Circle 2 range is I treated Circle one putting like the brand new players did so for a while I would just step in front of my lie and practice from tapin range just to feel what it's like to number one have my plant foot anchored on the ground so it's a legal Putt...
