The 2025 Match Play Championship gets started today. We are in Kansas City, Liberty, Missouri, just outside at Bad Rock Creek Disc Golf Course ahead of the Kansas City Wide Open this weekend and ready to go for some head-to-head matchups in Mo. Let's talk a little bit about match play and how it works. It's all about beating your opponent on that hole in particular. Doesn't matter how many strokes you beat them by. If you get a three and they get a four, you win the hole. Win the most holes in the round in order to win the match. Now, this is part of a bigger competition. We have these groups of four. They're going to play pool play over the course of the season. They're going to match up against each of the other players in their pool. Three points for a win, one point for a tie, zero points for a loss. Top two players from each pool advance to the championships where they do straight bracket play in November in Charlotte. Chance for redemption right here in Kansas City. And there's the attempt. This looks good. Oh, it might fall out of the sky. And it does get over safe. Brand new stop on the disc golf pro tour. It's been a silver series event. It's been a Q Series event and now here it is on the tour. This is so welld deserved. This community has just done so much for disc golf in general over the past couple of decades, maybe even longer. And and Ganon going sidearm just continues to show off some of the sneakier forehand distance out there right now. Just a long ways away. Genon to win the hole and he jams it high chains. So he's one up on AB. This is a touchy little shot here for Mattie O as well. Got to put a little height. Definitely got to put a good snap on it. That's That's so good. First we got to look at Rick's lie. And man, this would be a really nice par. So, McBth wins the hole. He takes a one-up lead on Ricky Weisaki. Second shot for Humphrey's on four. Got to climb this hill. The low side just makes that that putt so difficult. Matt O first T on hole two. Oh, that's really nice. Still a difficult putt...
