2026 Canadian National Championships - FPO R2P2 - Donnecke, McInnes, Lorenz-Boser, Wiebe

Round two coverage of the 2026 Canadian National Championships unfolds at the South Bear Creek Disc Golf Course in Grand Prairie, Alberta. Host Ian Anderson joins professional player Sophia Donnecke to analyze the back half of this diverse course, which features a mix of open fairways and dense wooded sections. The duo discusses specific technical challenges on Hole 10, highlighting how a restrictive fence on the right blocks traditional hyzer lines and creates a narrow corridor for players. They navigate the effects of wind and discuss the strategic advantages of finding the middle fairway to manage turnovers effectively. The broadcast provides detailed insights into the unique layout, where early left misses are punished, but the approach to the basket, perched on a hillside under a large tree, offers a rewarding finish. Viewers gain access to professional commentary on shot selection, including the difficulty of executing anhyzers in this environment. The segment also touches on Grand Prairie’s vibrant sports culture and its notably young demographic, adding local context to the competitive atmosphere. This coverage serves as an essential resource for disc golf enthusiasts looking to understand course management strategies at the national level, offering a deep dive into the precision and adaptability required to succeed at the 2026 Canadian Nationals.

Average age is like 34, which is pretty crazy. >> Wow, that really is. Hole 10, kind of crazy, kind of ledge-stoney, too, Sophia. >> Yeah, this fence on the right really blocks off that hyzer. Um there's a no bee line on the left that we just passed as well. That's kind of sucks in any early left misses. And then once you get past that gauntlet start, there's a really pretty approach to this basket perched on the hillside under this big tree. So you know, this hole you also kind of feel the wind in your face. So you got some wind to navigate. But first off, this awkward angle I messed it up. But that's okay. I like guys to throw a flex through a hyzer. >> It's It's that fence, I'm telling you. It just makes it almost impossible to throw that the anhyzer you would like. It just in your head. >> Oh. >> Colleen somehow does it, though. >> Yeah. >> Look at this spin. >> That looks good. >> That was a great one. Middle fairway for McGinnis. She's loving that one. Weeb would love to find the same spot. >> Yeah, it gets the turnover. It really off the tee it looks like oh it's going way right, but it's not really punishing to end up way right because the approach is so open. >> Yeah. >> And being out of bounds is just feels really silly. So. >> Zoe is...
