what's up guys Brody here so hopefully you've seen my backand forehand videos so far if not you want to check those out today we're going to be talking about overhead throw um known as the hammer this is personally one of my favorite throws so hopefully uh you guys enjoy this video yeah all right guys so the first thing we're going to talk about is the grip the grip is the same exact grip as the forehand it's a very firm tight grip you notice my my my thumb is on top of the Ring here my two fingers are pressing on the outside okay and then the inside my two fingers are pressing hard on the inside that's putting a lot of pressure on the disc and I have a very very tight grip and that's the very first thing we need to know all right so now the next thing we're going to talk about is the arm motion the arm motion is very similar to how you're going to throw a baseball or a football the only difference is in baseball or football we're releasing and we're finishing forward okay we bring it back and we finish forward for a hammer or overhead we want to finish up so I'm going to be here I'm going to finish up and out here and up and out so with the disc in my hand looks like this so the other thing I want to talk about is your wrists okay the wrist is really important when I go to throw this I want to my wrist back and I want to Snap It Forward very quickly okay so when I I go to throw when I get about here I'll it back and then as I go up I'll snap it Forward I don't want to have this already cocked before I go into my motion okay if that makes sense so it's flat my my wrist is straight I'm here then I go up back forward okay and I snap forward with my wrist so the first thing you want to do if this is your first time throwing overhead Hammer you want to get about 20 yards away 15 yards away from a partner okay I'm going to keep my feet pretty wide have a solid base and all I'm using is my arm...
