Welcome to the Ace Run Pro coverage of the DGA Star City Classic sponsored by Disc Gauntlet. This is a PDGA A tier event in DGPTQ Series event hosted by the Lincoln Flying Disc Club in Lincoln, Nebraska. We're here today at Bill Slooh Disc Golf Course. My name is James Flegi, one of the tournament directors and course designer of Bill Slooh. I'm joined by my friend and former Nebraskan, John Jones. Yeah, great to be here. Thanks for hanging out, John. So, you've been up to Star City for how many years in a row now? Too many to count at this point. This was my first tournament of my life in 2007. Got my first ace in this tournament and I'm going to come back till I'm in the grave. All right. I'd like that. So, formerly from Lincoln and you you grew up, as I did, playing a lot at Roper West, the other course in the tournament. Yeah. Yep. Very true. Old school 27 hole roper. Now it's a hair longer, but still got those good old holes. Oh, yeah. It's on the card today. You saw Logan Harpool there from Valley Center, Kansas. Multi-time winner here at Star City. And Jonathan Fletcher joining us, the 2017 winner from Fairberry, Nebraska. Also on the card, Aaron the 2023 winner from Lawrence, Kansas. And of course, rounding out the card, Mr. John Jones. Yeah, trying to run it back. I had my first A tier win here last year and ready to do it again. Love it. So, here we are in hole one. Starting off the course, 400T par 3. Got some OB on the left. Basically just trying to push down this fairway and hiser down into the woods. Couple things to miss. Little bit of undulation on the green, but this is a somewhat straightforward opening hole. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Uh you really don't want to push it too far long or of course go left or right. Leaves you with kind of a 40ft uphill putt. But great starter hole for get the nerves out the way. And here's Harpool. Little short. Skips up. That's Yeah, that's what you want though. Miss those trees and you got yourself about 20 foot. Yeah, Fletcher a little inside that tree there.
