The 2025 Playa Lucia Open powered by Prodigy is underway, and the ladies are facing off in round one of the FPO feature car from Yamakoa, Puerto Rico's Play Lucia course. Joining the commentary team, Felix and Conrad, are experts discussing the challenging conditions with strong winds affecting play. The field is navigating a mix of wooded and open holes, with those on the later holes being more severely impacted by the wind. As the leaderboard stands, Alsen leads the pack, followed closely by Own and Sarah Hok. Own's aggressive approach paid off, collecting birdies on 8 and 9 to leapfrog past Hok and take the lead. Rebecca took a bold move early in the round, attempting a shot down the right side of the course, but ultimately played it safe and stayed within bounds. Meanwhile, defending champion Brit is also making moves, showcasing her skills with a fuse buzzsaw approach.

Welcome back to the 2025 Playa Lucia Open powered by Prodigy. This is round one of the FPO feature car from Yamakoa, Puerto Rico here in Play Lucia. Joining me once again in the booth, it is Felix and Conrad. All right, we've seen some crazy wind out here already take effect on this course. And these ladies over halfway through back nine. Kind of a mix of some woodedish, but a lot more open holes still to deal with in this wind. Yes, but the open holes that they have to deal with aren't as affected by the wind up until you get to around 17 18. We're taking a look here at the leaderboard and we see that Alsen is leading the way with two downs here behind her with one and the other players are chasing slightly over par. We'll start it off here on hold 10 of par three coming in at 260 ft. You are teeing off from out of bounds. Everything on this roadway here is OB. You need to get inbounds on the right hand side where the grass is these last two kind of late guardian trees. The last ones to beat as your disc comes in moving from left to right. I say left to right because I've never seen anybody try to go the straight or right side throughout the entirety of a round. Has somebody done it? Last year I think so. Yeah. Okay. Well, we'll see if anybody does it this year on the FO guard. That seems like a psychopath line going that right side. I feel like I think it was Kale >> was h slight turnover. Own not messing around with it. Go right after the birdie after a bit of a slow start. Own did collect birdies on eight and nine to get herself two down. She was previously trailing Sarah Hok who took a bogey on hole nine. She kind of leapfrogged her way up to first place. This is fused buzzsaw here for Brit who is our defending champion. >> That'll work. >> So we saw Rebecca go a little bit early on the right hand side. >> Tracking right to those last two guardians and they do their job. >> Yep. But she does stay safe and in bounds. We've seen some ricochets off of those trees. >> Mhm. >> Kick...
