welcome back to Bonanza disc golf today we're talking about round two from my most recent tournament the David Reed Memorial in West Chicago's two rounds in one day and I had two strokes if you haven't seen my first video going into the second round I had shot a down 11 which is the hot round of the whole entire day including mpo everybody up to this point so I was feeling pretty good but here are my thoughts going into the round as well as commentary and coverage from the full round I think I maybe missed one or two shots all right get prepared for that second round this is kind of just my mentality going into it just trying to have fun play my game I got two strokes try not to think about that you know if someone plays better than me and they win they win you know I would love to shoot a thousand year tournament I'd love to just keep playing my game like I did first round I tend to have a really bad second rounds though so I'm really just gonna focus on playing my game my putt feels all right hopefully I can keep making those steppers just keep my head in the game and make sure I stay fueled up so I have some food some trail mix and some bars that I'm trying to try to eat every four or five holes there are a couple longer holes so we'll see how those end up playing out as long as we can play the best game that we can I think I can probably take down another win let's get on to Hole one oh one I'm starting out with the same shot as I did the first round which is an emac truth on an anhyzer line so that it just pushes down to the bottom there I thought it was a little shorter than I would have wanted ended up honestly being a pretty good shot and left me with this birdie look to start the day or the round not the day just over the top and that was kind of like my feelings I was not feeling super confident but I pushed it over there and here we are stepping up the whole two super easy pure shot aiming right over that tree and I squared it up I don't exactly know what was going on during this round I think I didn't really have a full launch I didn't feel myself super well I was running off about five hours of sleep so I'm here to make the jump but as you can see my shoulders never got back my chest didn't get up and I left it 25 feet short get enough dude had a really routine kind of 150 foot up shot chained out ended up starting hole two with the bogey where the guy who's too so respect for me he was also on my card took the birdie we're gonna keep smiling back to even I didn't want to lead anyways I think we're tired doesn't matter play that game that was always a bad holder oh dude why did you eat my lunch it's the easy hole so this round already started off pretty interesting I am obviously tired I could tell that now looking back at this footage I could have tell in the moment but here I am on whole two with my Explorer taking the Fairway Driver Line which I don't know why I decided to do that I don't like this tree so much keep using him as my aim points for something I guess gosh all right I don't know if I just like I'm trying to be too complacent I thought a lot about that shot and let's make it up take a par be happy and just play my game I'm a little nervous honestly I don't feel great I ended up being pretty interesting because here I am stepping up to my up shot honestly practicing a little bit of a stepper because I'm like okay let's do a better step within the first round you all again 100 feet out and for some reason I just can't put it in the air I like there was a little bit of wind but I don't think it was the wind and I'm just stop there dumbfounded that my body just is not working for some reason in this moment in this round I did not think about the fact that my body was tired because my mind felt pretty sharp but I didn't realize that my body was super tired and you're gonna see that play out so much because I didn't take the precautions that I thought I need to so stepping up don't make the same mistake as whole two and I thought I did just cast it but you'll hear me say oh my God so far in the basket that was super scary moving on the hole number four still even luckily making the same play as the first time Big River turnover shot but this should have also been the sign to me that my body was tired because I felt like I threw that at the exact same as round one and it stalled out so much faster because I did not throw it nearly as hard so I let myself stay way outside Circle one look which about 50 feet away thinking about making this that put but honestly thinking as well really defensively now that hey I can just if I miss layup I don't want to have to worry about making putts because I was not confident in anything at this point ended up taking the par at this point I'm like I just need one good big grip so whole five it turns into a 600 foot Par Four for the second round and I take my less stable Grays and just like pump it yes sir it didn't hit a tree this time let's go perfect maybe it could have got a little higher and ends it up throwing it about 420 feet leaving myself a really simple upshot with my Toro honestly pretty good shot but you'll hear me say and I'm still not confident I've been feeling very nervous I don't know why I haven't already I guess I don't I haven't been playing a lot with Elite I've been trying to get the lead so it's a weird position to be in and I have not been playing my game I've been just trying to save I guess I don't know I just feel like actually I've just been misreleased this was an interesting situation because the guy who I was tied with up to this point actually ended up multi-putting this hole and this was for birdie for me so I had a lot less pressure on this pot ended up cashing it almost honestly leaked out to the left side because these baskets are old and Rusty it feels good to find the good birdie now we're moving again on to Hole number six parked it pretty much last time going to throw the same shot that might work dude but this again should have told me your body's tired buddy a little bit of an early release outside and I landed about 50 feet short which you can't see from this angle is that tree to the left was kind of in my head ends up just missing it take the par trying to be happy about it I'm under par for this round and they also moved hole seven this round so it's 315 feet now up and to the right with a Mando on the right side of those trees at the very very edge so I just threw a fuse on a hyzer flip to turn line which makes its way up the Fairway kind of nestled up there because I was never thinking about taking the two on this one I don't even know if there were any on the day pitch up the pier because I want a little ground action and end up taking an easy three which honestly feels like Birdie on this hole today here we are moving into hole eight the first time I threw OB on the first round I end up discing up to a fairway driver and I was really scared by the shot it was not nearly to the right as I wanted luckily though same thing that happened first round it just kind of dropped and first round I ended up dropping OB because I threw it to the right this one ended up dropping in the Fairway I was like okay great Easy Shot the basket's about 200 feet in front of us I can throw the Toro but it slopes down at the basket so I don't want to have to throw something that's going to get a big skip the tour wouldn't in my head it would though so I throw my flippy Pier yeah okay oh that might be in the road God did not commit at all and the road places OB so landed just dead smack in the middle of the road because I wouldn't commit to that shot I really need to trust my up shots more right now so here this is for par big big win drop but I was never committed that play anyways ended up not recording this I don't think but I took the bogey Come on Anthony you're so much better than this again throw my Justice out there to the right coming back to the left can't really see the basket but ended up being not a great shot I thought it was going to curve way back more to the left but this again should have been an indication buddy your body is super freaking tired and so I'm 20 ish 25 maybe 30 feet out still inside the circle though on a really high basket give it a little baby run but when you're not confident especially putting up there never gonna happen almost want to clap my hands didn't because I was like that's not actually that bad this was still scary though because this is above my head I did not know if I was gonna be able to make that took the par so I'm honestly still having a pretty solid round I think I'm still in first or at least tied or someone on a card ahead of us who's doing all right I throw the Justice on this hole again but again thought this was the exact same shot as before ended up another 20 feet short from where it was the first time listen to your shots Anthony you're throwing shorter play like you're not in the same body because you're not your body's a little bit more tired oh exactly need to stop missing every single putt that I have but your body's tired and you're not compensating for it I don't know second round stuff because two rounds one day my second round is bad there are eight holes left let's try to get four or five down let's say five down everything is pretty much getable except for maybe one of these holes so let's try to get five we're moving on to another Par Four now 450 feet not super long but where we played hole 11 2 last time basically is the landing Zone which goes another 120 feet but you can see the basket now ended up smacking my Grace I love forehanding that thing right now my Orbit Grace so I have a simple Toro Chip Shot over there thought I left it short which again should be an indication that my body is tired and I left myself with a 15 foot putt which I was luckily able to put in the basket shot but I can't seem to do that really off back to this mental battle man oh 12 here we are again it's again 590 600 feet same exact play as before put my Explorer out but this time I put it higher and a little bit more left that way it gets me in the Fairway a little bit more to the left that way I can take my Toro shot a little bit wider to the right and throw it a little bit straight at the basket because the hazard which is on that left there isn't behind the basket for me based on where I'm throwing from it's now to the left wow foreign was not a good shot ended up straddling the line for the hazard so it ended up being safe another putt for birdie and I'm just not compensating I don't know what's going on I really also need to practice putting when I'm tired because I honestly don't even know what to do whether it's more Focus whether it's more commitment but ends up taking the part and here are our whole 13 should be relatively simple it's only 315 feet easy forehand this feels really confident for me today it's coming on my hands so good this Grace came out of my hand on a rope miss it just didn't get to the left enough did not if I was one more foot to the left it was parked but I squared up that tree and left myself with a 150-ish foot up shot which is perfect for this Toro you know you just got to give it the right height I here and just kind of dumbfounded and I still for some reason I literally not until after this round did I realize that my body was tired stepping up to this putt and I'm trying to feel real confident this is for par this is to save my par keep myself in the conversation for the win foreign bogey on a simple 315 foot forehand shot yeah couldn't even say anything honestly I don't even know what to do and so when that happens you want to make the bounce back so we got hole 14 255. there we go good height come on yeah this is one of the reasons I really like the Disc Golf Community because you heard all my card who are obviously walking because I'm throwing at the bottom of the card just really complimenting that shot and wanting to feel confident for me ended up with this lie right here which you're not going to be able to see because I kept recording and stopped recording when I thought I started recording of course I didn't record the second so that I was in the middle of those trees I didn't record it Teresa help me barely was able to kind of step out and find a lane but I ended up making a putt for the birdie which felt awesome after that and so I'm stepping up here with a little bit of confidence but a little bit of skepticism and just oh my opposite throw a terrible shot they moved this pin position back as well I saw someone throw the Fairway I couldn't have practiced this earlier because I didn't know where the pin was going to be and had absolutely no look so I'm just pitching out with an anhyzer forehand pure out to where I might have some sort of a putt to save the par I really thought that was in the basket I was so frustrated took the bogey there but I was honestly looking at some scores and seeing that hey I'm in it if I make that part but I was like okay here we are let's just have a strong finish hole 16 through pretty much the same shot just a little bit more to the right so it's a little bit more inside there it is much better yeah there it is there we go yeah great job freaking mooc just dry my dude almost put it out of bounds again it was a super solid drive only left myself about 220 feet into the pin so it's a pretty simple Toro Chip Shot gotta love my pocket hanging on my butt like that I think I need to take that tour out of my bag I just don't trust it as much as my zones let's just make this pot we can do we can make one putt some mentality you gotta ask sometimes left myself about 25 feet scary but it's in the corner pocket not really worried about how it looks because there's no pictures on the scorecard unless you film it and now we are on hole 17 640 feet just try to smash this drive and end up not really throwing it well right next to me not great but we have a look into the pin again 300 feet this is one where you can get within 250 feet you don't have a problem so instead of throwing my Thunderbird this time I decided to throw my overstable Explorer and honestly threw a pretty good shot Oh I thought we dunked it right before me Steven who's leading the tournament at this point also threw his shot and we landed literally on top of each other we both scared the chains a little bit and here I'm like come on make another putt you can make a pot dude again right over none of these putts in this round have been confident almost at all explore a state one got a hyzer flip Explorer gonna throw the exact same shot that I threw the first round but left it a little bit to more left oh so much win it's a really good distance just a little bit left let's make this turkey get this last birdie three in a row get out of here throw my putt thought it was perfect off the top and this is problematic too as you see me make my little walk of shame because I am at this point if I make this putt solo third and so now I'm about to be tied for third which means that there's going to be a playoff not only for the hardware but also for the payouts there's Jared who I played against last weekend as well making his putt we're tied for third at this point Steven tapping out phenomenal win way to come back super solid tournament round down nine in the win a thousand two rated okay first round worst second this is the worst tournament run I've played in so gosting while I bet this is gonna be like 800 or something right now okay so this is wild we ended up going to a playoff Jared and I because we had to figure that out and first drive was on hole one I didn't record the playoff because honestly at this point I was just I was done with everything I didn't want to have to worry about it but the craziest things happen on the two playoff holes we played one and four because we didn't want to go to two and three because they were far there we were both kind of done we both didn't play good I shot even he shot down two I think neither of us were happy with our rounds on a very scorable course look at this I threw my drive the basket is kind of about 30 feet past this dead tree and my grace on a forehand lands inside of the top of the tree how does that even happen ends up missing the pot obviously he misses putt we go to Hole four just kind of done at this point I'm like whatever I throw my River again same shot ends up being another 50 feet short because I'm even more tired at this point and so walk up to my lie he's like 45 feet to the left of the basket we're both tired I'm like no there wasn't gonna make this putt we're gonna have to go to a freaking CTP or something whatever Hail Mary step up super fast didn't record it obviously because I was done didn't think anything's gonna happen I'm 110 feet out Just Launch up my Pier like it's nothing drops right into the chains like the longest putt I think I've ever made in any sort of competition like what unfortunately he misses this putt I take my third place uh what the heck and here are my post around thoughts as well as what I got from the payout check it out and then check out the video that I point you to because you should watch And subscribe and like I love you see you there bye into an off season oh I guess I just got to work such an unfortunate and I should get some cool plastic though I might be able to play one more time I'm gonna see if I can sign up time to do a lot of training oh also let me cut back in here because that round even though I thought it was gonna be 800 something rating kind of felt like it ended up being 914 rated which is the worst tournament round that I've played this month I think if I my body would have been so tired or even if I would have realized that my body was tired and just started discing up a little bit or disking down instability which is hard to do in the Wind You Gotta definitely play that but even just recognizing hey buddy you're throwing like your body is tired the row like that instead of trying to throw my normal shots that definitely would have helped but that brings my event rating to 961 which means all my tournaments this month were above 956 rated which is so because I'm 931 rated right now I'm gonna have a video about how ratings work coming out because I can predict my rating to a T and I've done it these last couple of months and I'll show you how you can too TJ puts it on their website it's pretty simple honestly but that video will be coming out back to me in the past peace got a lot of discs for videos and I'll see you guys in those videos but watch the first round right over here where I did manage to shoot that just over a thousand rated round final
