Playing The Most REMOTE Disc Golf Course in America [Base Camp Adventure Lodge]

what in this video we're gonna go play base camp which is of course in moab utah which is probably the most remote course in the united states and either way it's the hardest one that i've ever had to get to drive there was so stressful that i forgot to record an intro so here's me on the road and i'll catch up with you after we play the course it is an awesome one but take a 4x4 view well it has been like five miles since we seen anything besides these like crazy 4x4 jeeps and off-roading vehicles so did not think it'd be this much of a journey to get there there's still a quarter mile away but i'm just gonna grab my stuff we're gonna go play to some of the fastest rounds that i can at least is pretty but van's got to stay there because two base camp ready bag that we're taking lots of water obviously it's going to be the same as yesterday except for i only have my green river instead of my green and my pink one we play these courses fast the goal today is going to be to be par hoping that i can get this out in three hours so that we have a decent amount of time to get back up and out of here because i'm scared to do that definitely take it four by fours you're going to come to base camp ben is back there somewhere and we got disc golf flying disc signs so nowhere in the right place quarter mile later we are here basket 18 for one of the courses hey i'm just looking to play some disc golf with you well it's five bucks each for course i'm gonna go through the original with you we're standing on the front porch of the lodge the tita one is right over the hill blue is way more hard than red cool and you're going that direction here's your horizontal distance to blue horizontal red vertical blue vertical red something you might read each time before you throw yeah and here's miscellaneous down here to save your life all right let's drink the water in this container cool that container and the bathroom is first door on the left all right hole one is right over here i am only gonna play the wharton course though because i only brought two bucks in cash and you need cash or check so if anyone comes to base camp let me know and i'll then mow you like three bucks so you can give them some extra this is gonna be crazy though i'm gonna play the blues the harder ones and we'll take a look here to see what everything says i'm assuming everything's par three and well i think the bars are gonna be on the back so let's take a quick look i haven't warmed up and i'm gonna stretch a little bit but i also haven't put so we're just kind of going for it it's about the most stress i've ever felt oh they have names that's pretty cool they're two fours actually so the first one blue we're going 379 feet do not go left hard to find discs in tamarisk and summer mosquitoes will require blood transfusion 379 going slightly downhill i'm going to throw the ballista pro first but we're going from here the blues all the way out there interesting tee boxes too they're not wide at said make sure you don't go left that's all right shot it's a little short though actually probably about 40 feet that's not bad all right i thought my ballista was up there somewhere but i'm getting the feeling that it wasn't as good of a shot as i thought it was the list is right over here all right first up shot of the day i think that there is stuff right behind the basket so i at least staple zone pretty flat even put it right in that bush to the right of the basket exactly where i wanted it to go perfect literally just aim for that bush oh yeah there's plenty of space behind there i could even give it a little bit pull two going this way just straight shot back up to the lodge called bullpen for the blue it's 333 feet going uphill 20 feet that's where it gets a little tough when i haven't warmed up see the basket right in front of us there i think it's gonna be a t-bird three shot and i think i'm actually gonna go my less stable one which i don't throw as much as my other cheaper three but i'm feeling just a straight shot a little bit and maybe flex it right back into the chains oh i slipped on that t look where i was landing so right there i need to watch out for that that is so slippy i think i'll still have a putt from about 50 feet otherwise it probably was gonna be a great shot two birth three basket right over there way too high across the street oh wow that's deep all the way out there this calls for the pharaoh as long as i hit this thing right it can get there a little bit of a headwind actually in that direction so i got to give it you more either i'm going to aim straight out this way and let it drift over and finish there you go finish finish finish finish finish ah it's not bad that's pin high that should be about 400 feet honestly if i want to put that a little bit more left that might be parked there are we oh wow yeah i'm i think i'm circle's edge honestly yes what a two that is not the hole i thought i'd be getting under par on but i will take that minus one two three okay where is the basket 260 uphill oh yeah that's cool it's very uphill so i might have to throw a fairway it'd be a trendy bird or a t-bird three or honestly a falcion maybe since i'm going uphill i can compensate with a less stable disc that's a firebird exact opposite trying to crest it still turning oh yeah crested the hill turning i think it might be short because you're so nose up because the first 140 feet is straight up a hill this course is really gorgeous oh my gosh this is definitely definitely definitely worth it just not in your sprinter van that you live in not crazy short here's the basket here i am oh that is cactus in my foot downhill pots are my favorite obviously you know that if you watch the last video oh man i'm so bad at down outputs all right next up we're going right here to hole five blue 260 feet losing seven feet elevation tam risk to right eat disc so don't throw it down there if male big horns my basket use caution oh they're big hearts my basket that would be so cool right there i could have seen the basket but it looks like it's a forehand player trying to hyzer and before that boulder and behind small one in front of the basket so probably most comfortable to just throw like a firebird oh no oh no oh no i did not keep that as right as i wanted hit all right that's safe my basket here it's pretty low actually and then we got my firebird all over here drop a whole six right here we're even going this course is wild man let's go see over the top oh 303 feet this is the top of hogan which is probably that 192 feet is much longer than the distance so guessing this is hogan where's the basket this is a hike just to see where the baskets are whoa that's cool that's pretty neat holy cow oh wow basket is down there guess the ideal landing zone is on that hill over there so you can filter down into it i think this is a feral shot again that's pretty good actually it's gonna be short but it's hard to get there i think kind of compliments the line that i wanted because i wanted it to start on more hyzer but i think my body was like anthony you're dumb let's do the smart thing and not throw it on hyzer because you're throwing it a million miles nose up oh perfect yeah right here that's not bad to that one bush so here we are do that one bush right in front of it so it's actually a putt a weird kind of straddle stamp so this is definitely something i practice a lot maybe a little more juice oh man another bar i really gotta work on my super stupid irregular butts all right so coming down from there we got hole seven which is both red and blue and it says it's the signature hole because you can all the way down there 340 feet and we got some wind blowing this direction it's called the catcher's mat which makes sense i'm thinking this is a forehand you really gotta make sure you release it downhill so i think it's gonna be a thunderbird going just really making sure i'm throwing it downhill kind of aiming honestly towards those yellow plants or even a little bit to the left i don't want to be in that gully but let's give it a nice little easter on here hopefully this wind is fun oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah stay stay stay stay stay parked under the basket that is perfect let's go don't think i'll be missing this putt ah good two down two that's not bad three seven there's red and blue lines painted to show where to go so the spoke is going this way so i guess it's oh yeah got right up here we got 250 feet par three it's right there behind this tree from up there i think it's gonna be rock x three just focus on keeping it down oh no i slept to get on the tee gosh man ah honestly maybe i should have thrown something straighter and just try to hit those rocks so i just smack those rocks it's right in the basket you live you don't think and then you learn after you do something dumb here's where we're going most stable zone put over that tree into the change for my first crazy pup make on this channel here we go stall it over it oh hold nine we are going the spokes say this way oh my gosh this is gonna be far holy cow the t is in the wall that's really cool it's 343 beforehand that way i think until my riva gets beat in this is still gonna be ballista pro forehand get through okay that's all right as long as that didn't stop it stop it i should be able to get through for the three but there are a lot of trees here it's nice that they have a red and a blue so all skill levels can play but it's honestly probably one of the prettier courses i've ever played in my life oh not bad okay right there okay so kind of hyzering right over that rock i'd like to have a straight shot instead of another one where i'm trying to hazard around something gonna be the first time i break out the justice utility desk here so it's gonna have to be a little bit annie to stall above that rock and head back towards the basket just like that just like that almost as perfectly executed as i could make it where are you just this was it short oh no okay that's not bad right here another weird putt to make all right that's a good par save man i thought that was bogey for sure just like i said in my last video my ultimate goal is obviously finish under part but the goal beyond that is not make a bogey because when i don't bogey i do much better so i think this is whole ten pretty happy with being minus two in the front oh and this looks like it is the t where the heck are we going up oh yeah i could have just looked i'm so silly sometimes right this line actually looks like a little bit of an overstable flex backhand open up the fairway as much as possible is what is it 300 feet uphill i would throw maybe a thunderbird or firebird but i think the rive is my play right here oh my gosh this is a t-pad right here under all this that's a t-pad so hopefully i don't slip all right let's park this baby oh that was a bid right there oh no i'm so sweaty keep ripping my hands off but it's just sweat there we go and i like that because i didn't have to juice my ride i could just kind of give it a nice 60 70 bid down three or down four i think it's no it's three that's three that's nice all right this one we got the t-pad back there we need to go find the basket so here's what we're looking at for 11. that's the basket the t-pad is on this ridge over here all the way back there so i think the landing zone is if i can get it there to get it into this goalie here that way i have some flat footing we're looking at hole 11 seldom seen par four 555 feet you're losing two feet of elevation long dog up the canyon spring and fall watch for mountain lion tracks whoa and the mountain lion that goes with them that's crazy oh my gosh at least this t-pad looks a little bit better it's not in the middle of sand let's make sure oh slippy okay it's not super crazy to get it over that rage it doesn't seem like it at least there's a little bit of wind pushing us to the right i think i'm gonna throw the ballista though feel a little more comfortable with it so i think i'm gonna throw a little bit of an anti-flex really try to hit it make sure when i'm throwing the anhyzer the big problem that i have and i know a lot of people have is they throw it and they throw it like this which is nose up you see the nose is up instead of throwing it like this which is an anhyzer so i really got to focus on keeping straight anhyzer pushing straight instead of nose up otherwise it's going to stall and put me in that guy that i don't want to be in that's a little bit nose up i don't think it's getting over oh no don't roll all the way down oh no why did i try to go over the highest part of the goalie oh thank you to that bush otherwise i was all the way down there going from there i have to throw another stable flex line maybe the firebird honestly maybe with the blister pro again from there over these rocks and try to somehow get it over that second ridge and be safe and try to get down into the gully but still kind of pushing on a little bit of a heist let's see what can we pull out the thunderbird get all out of here perfect still have a look for birdie but it'll be like 80 feet this is just gonna be a pitch up take the par and be happy with it maybe the zone on a nanny that should be good hopefully we're keeping our boogie if we round out here and we're still down three so that's not the end of the world oh yeah flattened out perfectly stress free par you might have to be able to see a basket off the tee for once hole 12. it's called slick rock you're in 18 feet up 27 feet in elevation this is a hike though man i'll be fit to be here oh there's another basket probably 13. oh yeah right there oh yeah this is a rocky green maybe definitely take some discs that you're okay beating up a bit i think it might be the same right play as before maybe just a little bit more hyzer instead of trying to do like a flex line keep crashing keep going keep going keep going up up ah that's a little short right behind it's gotta be a straddle man gotta be a straddle i'm coming in a little bit oh my gosh sit sit sit sit sit thank you this looks fun downhill again ooh across a gully whoa the chasm 297 feet dropping 26 feet across the chasm we have a headwind coming in right now give me a mid-range play because i don't want too much skip because i can easily just go down the hill so sure throw it down at it but not too down otherwise i'm in the canyon keep flipping keep flipping keep flipping it or go in drop whoa that's wow i juice that's so bad it's perfectly online i just give it way too much juice right there's the basket where is it what look at this underneath the rock here we are that's the y what's gonna go in between those rocks there this is a very spinny shot gotta get i'm trying to get in between all three of those just land it down just like that just like that's it that's so cool okay that's a makeup look 15 14 hey duke's revenge 189 feet losing six don't go right crevice to ride a basket with a small disc where's the little crevasse ooh scary it's gonna be a touchy shot we got a wind pushing us to the right as well oh dang it a little short put it up a little higher than i wanted so it stalled out a little faster as long as it's not eating up because i like that disc a lot right down there uphill putt for par or for birdie what am i talking about good dirty awesome let's go four down now still bogey free which is the most important and we got arrow putting us this way next hole 15 looking like hidden splendor another part three 420 but going down 82 feet where the heck is the basket whoa right at the bottom of the hill that is so cool oh my gosh oh this is super tough you can't even throw it down what a good hole design so i think if i do something on anhyzer like my arrive with the nose relatively down and it keeps the nose down and flex back so it'll seem like it's burning into the ground but it won't i hope that's a little bit too much annie it's not a terrible shot but it's not a good shot at least it should be pretty easy to see from up here oh yeah that's not bad it's straight ahead of us oh wow it overshot the basket probably went about 440 feet that's a harder shot than it should be just going straight downhill all right all right stepper let's let's hit this oh bad bad bad bad i gotta work on my stippys might have a video coming out about that soon i'm starting to work on the video about that soon it'll come out in months probably round four through 15. next hole says is uphill uphill this way okay so 16 t is right there i think the basket's over that bridge there 16 camel's hump 296 so not super long plus one foot elevation over the rock ledge to the left of 15 baskets so right over there probably shoot a fairway driver instead of a mid just to make sure that i can just keep it all on a pretty big spiking hyzer and get over that big that's about 300 feet down there it's about time to break out the firebird for today not that high though anthony holy crap actually that might be perfect nope the short i'm glad that this is as stable as it is because that just stalled probably 280 feet out there and then just dropped to the left just outside circle wind coming in this way so headwind with the right to left makes this a very fun putt didn't push it in where i wanted not a good you go punch in there it says it's this way okay 17. looks like we have desert solitaire par four 675 feet blue tea right of first mando left of second drop zones even with mando so right of that first mando oh it's always fun to walk two football fields just to figure out a hole yeah that's gotta be a second man no i gotta play the left of it and that looks like it's the basket my thought would kind of be to juice the pharaoh out there but i really wanna make sure that i land to the left so i think i'm gonna go my ride so i think i can get about 350 have it come back a little more left just gotta make sure i don't slip on the steep head that's pretty good that might be a little bit nose up so also distance at least 300 so the most important things i made the first man don't want to take any extra strokes today but i landed right here i'm really bad at distances i don't have a rangefinder but i feel like i can get around that with my thunderbird oh that's not great yeah that step up made my whole body go down it's not throwing it flat so i threw it on a crazy annie but as it is it's still all right i can't complain too much still a lot of stuff to contend with for this birdie putt i think the play is annie put here over that let's go what a good putt yes what a birdie what a pod all right down five so so good all right hole 18. go into that basket there 342 going up 10 feet plays longer than assistance looks like the big thing is not leaving it short the ballista might actually be the play oh yeah now come back do that a little too much annie i mean definitely got the distance but i'm not putting up to the basket at least behind it looks like dirt so you can give it a soft bit see how we play yeah a little short stop rolling though stop stop stop okay for a par i boogie free round let's go what a good broke if you're on this is not an easy course but it is one of the best courses that i have ever played you got a tortoise buddy what's up all right time to make the trek back up the off road let's see when i'm safe because i do want to see what the average youtube score is when i put mine in i need to remember which holes i buried though oh my god we're visiting family as i edit this video and we're all the way over in colorado so that just shows you i have like 25 videos filmed did make it out safe though so that is a big plus i am looking at the yuda scores and i'm actually pretty happy with how i played there because the 30 day scores i would have got second because i shot 50. so that's not bad and in 2022 that'll put me in third but there's not a lot of people i'm guessing who have played that course and put it on your disc actually that's out of 91 people that's not that bad all time though i'm still pretty stoked because that puts me top 17 in terms of people who've got to play it and for playing it that's stressed out maybe i just have to do stupid drives before i go play any time i play this golf because i played a pretty clean game there if you want to see the other courses in mob which is much more accessible
